Something that has always fascinated me about the classic trilogy is the creators use of real life weapons from a variety of places to make the iconic blasters of the films. Probably the most well known example is Han Solo's blaster pistol being a modified C-96 Mauser. The blaster rifles that stormtroopers carry throughout the movies has it's main inspiration from the Sterling SMG. The giant blaster canon that you see a sandtrooper on Mos Eisley wielding is in fact a Lewis Gun used in World War One. Boba Fett's carbine rifle is actually based on a 37mm flare gun. Princes Leia's blaster pistol is a barely altered Vostok Margolin .22. Lastly the ion blaster a Jawa uses to stun R2-D2 is a sawed off .303 Lee-Enfield. Just thought it was neat to share some of these as I believe using real world weapons as a basis for the firearms in the GFFA can make the Star Wars universe even more lived in and real. Movies like Rogue One and the show The Mandalorian have also based their weapons on the real things too.
