Star Wars Book Club 1st Edition hardcover 1976 - need information!

Hi all,

I have a question regarding an older thread that has since been locked. It refers to the Star Wars Book Club hardcover edition, and mentions that the oldest Book Club 1st edition was printed in August 1977 and has a Del Rey code of 2403-4.

I have a Star Wars Book Club hardcover with a 1st printing copyright date of 1976 (no month) and a Del Rey code on the back inside jacket of 2403, with no dashes at the end.

Does anyone know anything about this particular edition?

Oh, and where I assume the printing code "S27" would appear on page 183, mine appears to have the code "S33", though I can only assume that the "S" is there as I can barely see the 33 as it disappears into the spine.

Looking on my shelf, I just realized I have the exact same book!
I really don't know too much about this book either.

 

An update...

One online book dealer told me that based on my description, I have a 3rd printing of the first edition. I'm looking for confirmation, but he's probably right, and that's a little disappointing!
