Star Wars Characters-- Republican or Democrat?

When you watch or read about your favorate or unfavorate Star Wars characters in the movies, EU or whatever, what comes to your mind when you think of political parties and phycology and apply them to the characters? Which characters are which, and why? Discuss!

Here's my take on a few-

Luke Skywalker:

In ANH: I would say Republican.

In ESB: I would say neither. Woulden't care.

In ROTJ: I'd say Democrat.

Princess Leia: Democrat all the way.

Uncle Owen- Republican.

Aunt Beru: Republican.

Now the two hardest characters for this are: Han Solo and Obi Wan Kenobi.


So..what do you think?

 

There are more parties than Republican and Democrat.

I'd rather use political ideologies.

Conservative, Liberal, Facist, Communist etc....

 

Ok, whatever terms you want to use is fine.

IIRC, there was a subtle theme in The Cestus Deception in which Obi-Wan and Kit Fisto were arguing different political viewpoints. Obi-Wan seemed more liberal; Kit was more conservative.

 

Palpatine - Fascist
Vader - Fascist
Tyrannus - Fascist
Maul - None
Leia - Democratic
Luke - Probably a Conservative Democrat
Owen - Republican
Beru - Republican

 

I prefer using political ideologies: Liberal, Conservative, Populist, and Libertarian.

Libertarian: Wants government intervention on no issues.
Conservative: Wants government intervention on only social issues (abortion/gay marriage/etc.) but wants no government intervention in economic issues.
Liberal: opposite of conservative
Populist: wants government intervention on economic issues and social issues; wants government legislate morality.
Moderate: balances all four aspects

Most people are either Populist/Libertarian and either Conservative/Liberal

For example, I am a Populist Liberal

Mara: Populist/Conservative
Cal Omas: Populist/Conservative
