According to Sue Rostoni, this is the title of the James Luceno novel that takes plae right after Episode 3. Here's what she said on the official boards:

"I posted some info on the 9-book Epic Saga series on that thread... but I can't find the thread for Jim Luceno's post-Ep3 Hardcover and we tossed around story ideas for that one too. So I'll post it here....

    Dramatis Personae:

Howard Roffman - President of Lucas Licensing
Amy Gary - Director of Publishing
    Sue Rostoni - Sremmuy
Shelly Shapiro - Rogue Planner and Editorial Director at Del Rey
    Jim Luceno - Author
    Leland Chee - Tasty Taste
    Pablo Hidalgo - Pabawan

We met this morning and through lunch. Very good stuff. We have a strong story line that begins just before the end of RotS and carries forward a number of weeks to maybe a month or two after -- the time span is not entirely nailed down. We came up with plot points and enough material for Jim to develop a strong outline and great story. And... we have a title!

    Star Wars: Dark Lord

Okay, so we used "dark" again.... but we had to!"

    Can't wait!

Depending on what the book is actually about, that could be a good title or an awful one.

Anyone else noticing that some of the "newer" authors appear to be pulling the same trick as Zahn and Stackpole--incorporating a few common characters and themes, as well as an overreaching plot, throughout some or all of their novels?

It struck me that CoD, LoE, and DL are probably going to be Sidious-centric novels still featuring other main characters, detailing Sidious's plans and ambitions all the way to fruition. This would also explain Kaird's unusually large role in MS2 (setting up Coruscant Nights), and with Denning apparently planning large roles for the Killiks and Raynar in DNT, he may be following the same pattern.

I guess this will be a Vader or Palpatine centric novel? Cool!

True, I'd say Reaves already had Kaird in mind for something else further down the road when Medstar was in the offing.

It's a fairly common phenomenon in shared-universe media fiction for one author to thoroughline particular characters across several of his/her works, as evidenced by Stackpole and Zahn's stuff. Seeing as how both of these were pipelined nigh-simultaneously -- and considering the fruitful working relationship between Luceno and Stover during their EP3 thinktanking -- I doubt any of these will be considered true "standalones" in any sense of the word.

Quite a simple title, really, both in choice of words and meaning. ;)

First Sith Lords (KOTOR) now Dark Lord. That's not a title, it's bland simplicity. Look how many SW titles have "dark" in them, as many as fantasy books have "dragon".

But hey, it's SW after all.

sounds to me like it'll focus probably on Vader and him adjusting to his new role/persona. Maybe taking care of some Jedi in the process.

I couldn't care less about a book's title, it's the stuff between the front cover and the back cover that interests me ;)

Still, fairly obvious this will be a Vader or Palpatine novel - perhaps Vader hunting down a few of the remaining Jedi? I'm sure it will be amazing :D

Generic title aside, I think that this book has amazing potential. Personally I love Luceno's stuff and I cant wait to see what he has planned. After all, worst case we're probably looking at Vader adjusting to his new role. Best case we're probably looking at the beginning of the Purge itself.

Either way I just cant see this novel being bad. Too bad its so far off, though.

So should the next SW novel be titled "Dark Dragon"?

Either way, the ROTS=ANH inbetween era is the ground that some form of SW EU has to cover sometime soon!

kinda like RotS itself, it will either be absolutely glorious or it will just suck... and they used a steriotype Dark again... i only have forgiven the use of Dark in a title twice, Dark Force Rising cause it was the very first Dark title so it wasnt steriotyped then and Dark Nest just cause the Nest part is so original...

That Vader/Stover novel just keeps becoming more of a dream.

Luceno should do a good job with Sidious, if he's in it. He's good with evil plots and schemes.

The TESB Radio Drama had an episode called "Dark Lord's Fury."

Speaking of which, I miss those things. I'm missing many tapes from my set, and don't have a tape player besides. I should try to look into acquiring.
