ST Star Wars Episode 7.1: Undercover Ren (SNL Skit)

In case you missed Adam Driver hosting "Saturday Night Live" last night, here's their Kylo Ren sketch, with Driver reprising his role as Kylo in an "Undercover Boss" episode:

 

Hahaha, that was really good... So Adam can actually play both the bad and the comic guy in the same skit, not bad!

to be honest is been a long time i don't laugh at loud watching SNL. Did you guys like Adam's performance

 

I enjoyed it. I'm glad they still found a way to respect the character's power and strange character enough while still having fun. I was worried the sketch wouldn't respect those elements enough initially. Driver was a good sport and the parody of the employee, who clearly knows he's on the show sharing a sob story (which happens every episode on Undercover Boss) in order to secure a benefit from his boss was amazing because of who killed him. Ha ha ha.

All things considered... Solid sketch. Could have ended up less respectful of his character so I'm glad it struck the right balance.

 

Yes, you are correct, I don't think the sketch its going to make me think less of Kylo. In the contrary, I think it adds more dimension to his "immature" part of the character. lol

 

Adam Driver is really having fun with his Kylo ren alter ego.

 

That was a lot of fun.

 

Was waiting for him to tell Zack, the grieving commander, of his own sad loss in the family .. but obviously - too soon. too soon (and too spoilery, even now?!)

 

"That guy looks like he weighs less than 30 lbs soaking wet under that black dress." Love it!

 

Not being familiar with his previous work, it seems that Driver has an incredible range as an actor in the skits he was in.

Also, in this sketch, his lines and delivery in the Kylo Ren costume kind of gives us more insight into his character.

I was thinking the same thing!!! And the skit was hilarious. I like Adam Driver more and more the more I see him! Usually it's the opposite with actors lol.

 

Of course it is. "Undercover Boss" exists in the "Star Wars" universe. Boss Nass and Jabba The Hutt have made appearances in previous episodes

That was great. Not too long and actually funny. Well done Driver. I like a guy that can poke fun at his roles.

I saw it this morning and absolutely enjoyed it. He's managed to blend his role as Kylo Ren with all the awkward comical roles he's done previously seamlessly. Great guy.

 

I love this.

 

He can get in and out of character very easily. Great actor.
