Cover image is huge so spoilering for size:

Is this important enough to justify its own thread? Who knows, but seeing as it is an original story and has ties to canon continuity, I'm going for it. February 25, 2025 brings us:

STAR WARS: GALAXY’S EDGE – A BATUU ADVENTURE!
    A Little Golden Book

    publisher info:
    written by Jeneanne DeBois
    illustrated by Bill Robinson
    hardcover (24 pages)
    Golden Books
    ISBN 978-0-736445269
    $ 5.99

Explore a galaxy far, far away in this Little Golden Book based on the Disney Parks’ Galaxy’s Edge Star Wars attraction!

When a young, curious boy and his family stop on Batuu to refuel their ship, he quickly gets swept into a rebel adventure! Follow his journey as he explores the streets of Black Spire Outpost in this Little Golden Book that features locations, characters, and creatures from the Disney Parks’ Star Wars-themed Galaxy’s Edge attraction. This exciting book is perfect for kids 5 and up and Star Wars fans and collectors of all ages.

Little Golden Books enjoy nearly 100% consumer recognition. They feature beloved classics, hot licenses, and new original stories... the classics of tomorrow.
Like a lot of us, Little Golden Books were a treasured part of my childhood, and it's been great to see Star Wars thrive in this format - I grin every time I see that adaptation of "The Faithful Wookiee" at my local supermarket. This is, I think, the first original canon story in the LGB line. And going by the cover it looks like they're remaining faithful to existing continuity, complete with Vi Moradi and Kylo Ren prominently featured (so this probably takes place during the Galaxy's Edge "day"). Yes, as a canon completist I will be keeping a close eye out for this one. Might finally pick up "The Faithful Wookiee" while I'm at it.

Yes, I've been seeing this on facebook and twitter - and I agree - the first little golden books canon original story novel so automatically becomes a must buy!

I really like the whole Galaxys Edge thing. The stories leading up to it are great so more Vi Moradi the better!

Would be fun if Baatu evolves into a new Jedha kinda post ST... with UR open for exploration its importance will spike and settlers and industry come. Maybe even Jedi returning there and it has rich history and is well rooted throughout all of Disney canon in one of the better examples of how to create something new and hammer it into every era.

Bakura, Baatu and other UR border worlds would see a rise of attention in that era I guess. Likewise on the other end of the galaxy the former Imperial Remnant worlds bordering it that already have secret connections to the Chiss and other territories there the NR never learned about.

Had some trouble tracking it down for some reason, but as promised I finally obtained a copy of A Batuu Adventure!

It is pretty much a child-friendly adaptation of the "Galaxy's Edge" experience. A young, unnamed protagonist arrives on Batuu with his parents and is recruited by Vi Moradi to deliver critical information to the Resistance, meaning he has to sneak around the outpost encountering the familiar locations and characters of Black Spire while running into Kylo Ren, Hondo, Chewie, and Rey.

I really have to question Vi's OPSEC here: not only does she entrust this critical information to a random eight-year-old kid who simply happened to walk by, but she put said information on a large, obvious Rogue One-style datatape that the kid then has to openly carry around like a briefcase. Let's just say Vi won't be putting the Bothan Spynet out of business anytime soon.

Not too much else to say about it. The artwork is cute; kids who enjoyed "Elee & Me" will like it.

I have this ordered on Amazon. Estimated date is tomorrow but it has not yet been dispatched so I can't see it happening. We don't get the little golden books in the UK natively (at least I don't think we do), so I guess even though its Amazon UK, its coming via the States.

In searching for this, I learned that the Little Golden Book folks have really expanded their scope since the days when the Poky Little Puppy was a really big deal. Today's roster of LGBs include titles based on Jaws, Gremlins (!), Alien (!!), Planet of the Apes (!!!), the Golden Girls, and pretty much any other pop-culture property you can think of. Hard to imagine, say, Planet of the Apes making for a good bedtime story ("...and it turned out Taylor was on a post-nuclear-apocalypse Earth all along... good night, kids!"), but I have a feeling these are meant more for the adult nostalgia market nowadays than for kids.
