“How many seconds until the bomb blows up?” “Ten, Sue! RUN!” I don’t know why that is the first thing that came to mind when I saw the new Jedi’s name
I agree. But like, I don't want a Rodian or a Twi'lek. I want something rarer. thrown in a Separatist species or a pod racer. Anything like that.
Seems like the Grand Inquisitor is not going to follow the Pykes' steps in terms of live-action portrayal becoming dominant, that is just great. Hope for good team dynamics and some clever plan from the Inquisitors, for a change.
With them as the focus, I guess we are going to see them get some wins in. Or at least a win in since this is a miniseries. A jedi on the run named Run huh? The theory that star wars is dominated by nominative determinism continues...
Cool. I wonder if this is their answer to the Vader comic ending. They are going to have series like this that will still have Vader very heavily involved in it. I honestly think there would have been enough room to make an ongoing out of this instead of a mini.
I agree something that has just feels prequels in a way. A Sneevel, Glymphid or a Triffian would be cool
I'm in. I think it'd be quite enjoyable if we get a number of Inquisitor minis - we could have a follow-up on them hunting down and pillaging the Dark Side locations Iskat came across (lotta backstabbing potential there) to break up the monotony of just killing Jedi. Hopefully this explores them in a time period that isn't all full-up already (basically, not in 9 BBY). On a broader note, it seems like Marvel is taking a (long?) break from running most of/all their SW books in an interconnected manner in the same time frame. We're just all over the map so far in 2024. At a total guess, I'm inclined to think we'll end up w/1-2 books per era, max, for the next couple years (e.g. Bounty Hunters and rotating Jedi minis in the TPM/AOTC gap, Inquisitors and maybe a companion or alternating Jedi/Hidden Path book in the ROTS/ANH gap, and a big 3 book and maybe Aphra post-ROTJ).
We'll see. I imagine we will get the announcement of several new ongoings soon. They probably want to wait until closer to when the ESB era wraps up before they announce what era/eras the new ongoings will focus in. We've had a steady four to five ongoings going at once ever since the license went back to Marvel and that likely isn't going to change as ongoings tend to sell better than minis do. I highly doubt they will switch focus into doing mainly minis. The Star Wars and Vader, and High Republic series all have about five issues left before they wrap up so we will have to see what gets announced during the next four to five months.
It’d be cool if they introduced some of the legends inquisitors into canon, like Mallorum, Jerec, Antinnis Tremane, etc. Obviously they’d have to be changed a bit, but their basic characterizations and appearances (minus the outfits) could stay the same
I personally believe that the Inquisitors were one of the only EU concepts that Filoni and co actually improved upon. I don't know if there is enough room on the inquistiors for most of the legends ones though I think that Jerec would be the most likely to return in some form
I prefer the legends inquisitors personally, I like the variety among them and the more intimidating vibe a lot of them have, but I can respect and understand some of the changes made to them in canon. And yeah, they definitely couldn’t bring back all the legends inquisitors, but there’s room to potentially bring back a few, and it’d be dope to see Jerec and Antinnis in the canon inquisitor outfits. My only concern about them coming back would be the possibility of them being nerfed and made out to be less of threats than they originally were
Good idea. Crimson Reign also mentioned there being a purge of dark side groups. That might fun as well, have some evil vs evil battles.
Have the Inquistiors be the best of two evils. Wait a sec, that would be a cool way to bring back Gepka and tying in him killing the Sorciors of Tund
Agree, especially regarding Malorum, since he is not a former Jedi, but a former Imperial Intelligence operative. Can be an interesting storyline about the Inquisitorius replenishing its ranks with Force-sensitive Imperials, creating an additional internal tension in the organization. Regarding outfits - hope that the Inquisitors are going to eventually participate in undercover missions in civilian clothes.
Ok, I figured out the best way to bring back the legends Inquisitors AND explains why we haven't seen them yet. The Grand Inquistier and the Brother/Sisters that we have seen in canon are only the ones that public are meant to see. Thats why they are mainly made up of aliens because it would also serve to drive the Empire's Xenophobia. The Legends ones are in the shadows and hiding in plain sight.
More Inquisitors... ok, i guess. When do we get something we really want and can hype for again? It's been ages since that... I miss the good old times...
Well I'm hyped. The more Inquisitors I get, the more likely I get more Vos, Ventress, Ahsoka and Barriss content. Give me the content.
I’m not particularly excited for an Inquisitor comic, but I’m also not so selfish that I want an entire arm of publishing to exclusively cater my individual tastes.
Everyone wants something different so you just make what you think a lot of people would like. Clearly with how much focus the Inquisitors got in the Obi Wan show there will be an audience for them. I also imagine the comic will focus largely on Reva.
