I just hope Coleman Kcaj shows up and does something in it. At least I asked Guggenheim about him showing up.
I also Hope Coleman Kcaj does something cool in it. It would be nice to see some of the lesser known jedi do things
Spoiler Darth Stinky The Flatulent. But seriously...when will we get more on the NR post Endor/Jakku and how it operates?
Spoiler Loved the impromptu Jedi council Meeting. Wonder where exactly in the timeline this is, Qui-Gon is obviously a full Knight (At least). The fact that he's alive at all place's it before TPM naturally. Curious that Shaak Ti is present along side Yaddle and Poof. That also Depa Billaba in the bottom right corner? New hairstyle. A no marks of illumination? Curious. Most curious. Oppo Rancisis is appearing taller than he did in TCW, but there is so much about his physiology that is a wonder. Spoiler
I wonder if we will get a Mandalorian Civil War arc. Qui-gon and Obiwan spent a year on the planet protecting Satine. The years preceding TPM I think is the best period to explore the Prequel Jedi before the Clone Wars. Not only is Qui-gon still alive, but so is Yaddle. Then there is also Jedi Dooku. Narratively while its not the golden age of the Republic anymore, the years preceding TPM are the final years where the Supreme Chancellor is not a Sith Lord. I wonder if we will ever see a nu canon version of https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Stark_Hyperspace_War/Legends There is a canon article but its very small. Sure we have the Nihil during the High Republic, but I still want the pre-TPM Republic do be involved in a smaller crisis, one they handle better then the invasion of Naboo. Hopefully this ongoing lasts awhile, and when its done we get a sequel series exploring the 10 year gap between TPM-AoTC. I want to see the first days of Anakin as Obiwans apprentice in the new canon.
Hope that Czerka will be an antagonist in at least one issue, really need the visualization for their PT era uniforms and ships, especially with such great art.
I unabashedly want the answer to be "Qui-Gon's BS" every time. He won a kid gambling while he was supposed to be in a different system asking the Trade Federation to be more chill. There's no way that isn't the culmination of years of shenanigans.
I'm just excited, the art looks great. Also very curious what era they'll do after PT, Canon doesn't have a NJO era yet, at least not one they seem willing to explore. We still don't even know the extent of Canon Luke's Jedi Order.
Just because I can't get the image out of my head and I've always been kind of obsessed with this topic.... Spoiler Here are the logical deductions I have come up with just by staring at the previously posted Jedi Council scene for way too long. There are a Grand Total of 16 Characters in the Image presented. For Sure Not On the Council - Shaak Ti: Her presence actually tells us a lot, and gives us considerable flexibility. She can't join the Council until Post TPM and for this reason we may reasonably assume this is not a Council exclusive scene. Quite possible several others present may also be outsiders. - Qui-gon Jinn: For Obvious reasons. For Sure On the Council Yoda, Oppo Rancisis, Yaddle, and Yarael Poof are all ancient and have been on the council for centuries. They fill four seats minimum. Maybe's?: Ranked (Roughly) from who I think is most likely to least likely to be on the Council - Poli Dapatian???: Granted that image could be Plo Koon, but he's the only one with a breath mask I see and given the era it would make sense for Dapatian to make an appearance. In Master and Apprentice he has been said to be on the Council for a very long time. - Adi Gallia: Has often been stated to be a senior member of the Council and shown to be on it for a long time in both Legends and Canon/ - Saesse Tiin: In a scene without dialogue, his expression says a lot in the brief zoom in we get of his features. - Even Piell: Old, wrinkly, and very little on his backstory in both continuities. I don't see why he couldn't be there. - Mace Windu: 99% of sources in this era treat Master Windu as the de facto leader of the Council already even if it doesn't always make sense. Keeping in mind his age (He's be in his 30's in the 40s BBY), it would be par for the course and not at all impossible for him to have his seat already. Doing so however would imply this takes place in the later part of that decade. - Ki-Adi Mundi: His timeline is all out of wack because of the Acolyte. No reason he couldn't already be on the council and just based on canon I might put him higher on the list. At the same time my natural sympathy towards legends also makes me hope he is still a newer member by 32 BBY and nothing in canon yet has contradicted his ascension in legends. (AS far as I know.) If they do put him on the Council here, it will raise issues for one canon enthusiasts, though one easily reconciled by the relevant comic stating he sat in during previous meetings when Micah Giiet was not present. - Eeth Koth????: A weird one because Master and Apprentice shows him on the Council c.40 BBY but The Living Force states he is a new member c.32 BBY. The individual that could be him in the scene has a hood on in a hologram and as it currently stands it is impossible to tell. - Depa Billaba: Her place on this list is a result of multiple convergent factors. Perhaps most pressingly, her age. She trained under Mace Windu and thus is likely around a decade younger than him. So, if he's in his 30s she is in her 20s. AKA: Not ready for the Council. In fact, it's not impossible she is still his apprentice during this time, though that would carry interesting implications for Mace who canon would have not taught a student while being a fresh member of the Council himself. (In the image she DEFINITELY appears quite young to my eye, but then the Kanan Comic and The Bad Batch also give her a youthful glow so that is open to interpretation). Ultimately part of this may just be my hope they don't make a story irreconcilable with my ongoing fanfiction. Unknown Members: There are two or three people in the picture I can't make heads or tale of, just because the way the shot is staged. I did make a couple assumptions here, including one being Poli Dapatian and not Plo Koon. Another has a passing appearance to Eeth Koth, but I can't be sure, even still a couple people just don't have enough detail for me to even get a reasonable guess. - One of the holograms gives me older Depa Billaba vibes, but that's not likely just because the girl in the bottom right is virtually identical to a younger version of her. - The faceless person on the left could be Obi-Wan but based on the estimate of the era he looks too tall to be a teenager and has too much dark hair. (Padawan Braid present??) - I'm hoping for a Micah Giiet appearance but absent him Jocasta Nu did show up in Ki-Adi's seat in the Dark Temple comic. Granted that isn't hard evidence of anything beyond her presence on the Council either because the Jedi Council has never had a hard seating chart.
I feel like he should get brought back in some form for this series. You could just ask Guggenheim if he has plans for him on his Substack.
I already asked him about Coleman Kcaj, I don't want to pester him about every minor Jedi I want to show up. Which now I think about it would be Kcaj, Giiet, Tsui Choi, Kazdan Paratus would be cool, Finn Ertay, Eekar Oki, and have one of the Acorna Jedi from the background of the second Dooku short from Tales of the Jedi.
I want Kep-She so that we finally get a depiction of the Battle of Malastare Narrows, and get to see the Corporate Alliance fleet of Fantails.
