Forgive me if there is a thread on this already -- I couldn't find one. I remember hearing a while back that Sideshow Collectibles was up to something involving unique stories and characters for some new models. Apparently they're releasing some sort of "Star Wars Mythos" centered on several non-canon backstories involving said models. One of them just caught my eye -- the Gamorrean, Lamrokk: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lomrokk His backstory includes, bizarrely, the long-forgotten character Longo Two-Guns from the bounty hunter games. USA Today has a report on it: http://www.usatoday.com/life/comics/story/2012-09-13/Star-Wars-Mythos-statues/57777648/1 Maul, Kenobi, and Lamrokk's bios are currently up on the main site. Boba Fett and Vader are slated for future updates. And there may be more after that, depending on the popularity of the series.
I think I remember seeing something about this too. I definitely remember seeing that Obi-Wan model. But yeah, love the reference to Bounty Hunter.
When I first heard about this, I expected some needlessly elaborate and contradictory backstories...but these seem just fine. Why aren't they canon, exactly? TC
Longo Two Guns was one of my favorite levels in Bounty Hunter. No flying involved and you got to blast a whole bunch of people. I'd replay the level for stress relief if I had a bad work day.
And these back stories aren't canon why? I definitely love the Obi-Wan statue. I like how in one angle it looks like Ewan McGregor and at another angle it looks like Alec Guinness. The Darth Maul story is similar to the Tales comic and I do like the reference to Bounty Hunter in the Lomrokk story. Looking forward to the stories for Boba Fett and Vader.
