Star Wars Palladium Conversion

Hi everyone, yes I know that the SW RPG is like D&D but I got into Palladium with all my friends and I want to do a Campaign with Star Wars. I did Convert Some Stuff myself, but I was wondering If any of you have ever done the same thing before, and If so, do you have any tips?

 

Pick up the Phaseworld Dimension book (Dimension Book Two: Phaseworld). It will give you some really good ideas for space combat and how to run things like lightsabers. The Heroes Unlimited book is also good as it's got a nice section on Psionic powers of all stripes which makes a nice stand-in for Force powers.

Don't bother doing a direct conversion to Palladium from D20 rules, there systems have wildly different scales and game balancing. Take some OCCs from the Phaseworld book and Heroes Unlimited books, do a little tweaking, and you'll have all of the SW OCCs you'll need.

Note:
I ran a SW game using Palladium rules a few years ago and it worked out alright as a hack & slash game. If you're into heavy duty RPing you won't be very happy with Palladium's rules but if you like big guns and explosions they're wonderful. I had the benefit of quite a few Palladium books (RIFTS, Robotech, Heroes Unlimited) to grab OCCs from. I didn't do many starship conversions beyond the basics (Star Destroyer, MC80, X-Wing, TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor). If I can find my old notes I'll post some gems if you're interested. Be aware that it will be a lot of work doing a full conversion, I just took existing OCCs and ships and added or deleted a few things to make them fit in SW.
