Star Wars Rap Thread

The rap duo Outkast has a new album coming out soon. They have just released a few videos of songs from the new album. One of these songs is "The Way You Move." Upon watching the video for the first time, I was surprised to see a segment of it taking place in a dojo, with the guys of Outkast holding none other than LIGHTSABERS! A really cool Star Wars reference from a really cool group.

 

yeah, I noticed that. My favorite song by them is "Hey Ya"

Outkast is awesome. Andre and Big Boi are some of the coolest lyricists... and they have good, if not better, stuff pre-Stankonia.

 

Found another SW reference in rap. This one comes from Ludacris's album Chicken and Beer. The song is called "Hip-Hop Quotables." Here are some lyrics, edited with Red Dwarf terminology, of course:

I'll take a smeg on the equator, the size of a crater
And make Government officials breathe harder than Darth Vader

 

In Jay-Z's song, Change Clothes, he says:
"No body gonna wesley snipe me....., move back let out breathe Jedi Knight the more space I get the better I write."

What's sad is...I've seen and heard both of those videos. BTW, what the frell is that line of Jay-Z supposed to mean?

Outkast...that 2 shots of guys confused whether they are in the Matrix or a bad martial arts movie (BMack..."the defender" you know what I mean) I might have missed something important, because I was numbed to the point of drooling...because of the mindless parade of "ladies" (and I use that term as loosely as their clothing) with them.

Today I just bought the new D-12 album, "D-12 World." In the liner notes, Proof (Eminem's best friend, also a member of D-12) thanks Bubba Fatt.

 

Star Wars and rap go together like Ice cream and onions.

Lightsabers in a dojo sounds like a good idea though.
