We all have seen Star Wars references almost 1,000,000 on TV, but the problem is remembering them for future reference. This thread is to compile a data-bank full of Star Wars references from TV shows.

So let's start the data-bank now!!!!

THAT 70's SHOW: Eric and Red are entered together in a father/son Paul Bunyon contest, consiting of a series of events. When Eric failed to build his Lincoln Log CABIN, Eric said "I thought I'd earn some extra points by building the MILLENIUM FALCON." Red replies with "If that's something from Star Wars, I'm gonna kick your ****." And under his breath, muttered "That can make the Kessel Run in under 6 parsecs.

The West Wing: When CJ Craig asked her staffer how many more interviews she had to go through, the answer was "Eleven-hundred thirty-eight."

Fear Factor: In one of the first stunts they had to make, named the human wreaking Ball (a pendulum drop from 120 feet throught a wood wall and launching a sand bag at a target on the pavement), one of the contestant mention that is was like in Star Wars when Luke Skywalker closed is targeting computer and and use the Force to shoot is torpedos in the exaust port. The host even mention the Dark Side. The contestant eventually succeded the stunt.

MTV Undergrads: In the massive computer room - fans will recognize it - a hologram of an X-wing spins around. There's a poster of the original Star Wars from 1977 hanging on one wall. Later on, a computer screen lights up with the image of two Boba Fett?s holding up blaster rifles with "For Sale" attached to each of them. Finally, Gimpy, talking from his computer monitor, replies to a statement with his explanation of the situation, saying they're as broke as "carbonite miners on Cloud City." Yep, this episode was full of impressive ones.

    Batman:
The first one was so blatant, it consisted of a conversation between Terry and his friend:
Friend: "do you think there's a connection?"
    Terry: "is Jar Jar lame?"

Other references were the bad guy, call the "Wise One," wore a deep hooded cloak and shot lightning from his fingers, and his "Sentries" carried energy swords, although the blades looked more like fire.

The episode ended with the writer Michaels telling three boys that "it all started a long long time ago, in a cosmo far from earth...."

Everwood: Ephrim's piano teacher takes out a new piece of music, tells Ephrim he has ten seconds to look at it, then takes it away. He then says to play the piece.
    Ephrim 'I can't.'

Teacher 'Just close your eyes, and try to visualize the music.'

    Ephrim 'Whatever you say, Obi-Wan.'

YES DEAR: Greg, one of the main characters, decided to get a storage place to put all of his old stuff from the 80s that he was supposed to throw away. One of his "neighbours" at the storage place used it as a hideaway for all of his SW memorabilia. When they opened the door to the storage shed, he was dressed as a stormtrooper. Most of the rest of the show he was dressed as Chewbacca.

Farscape: Series 4: Episode 15 - "Mental as Anything".
Crichton and D'Argo are watching Rygel take part in a mental battle at the mental arts training camp, when Crichton says "Excuse me Master Jedi, do you think he's lost enough brain cells yet" (or something to that effect).

    Alias:
There's a scene where Marshall (the gadget/computer geek) says to Sidney: "I'm Marshall (rest of full name). I'm here to rescue you."

Marshall the computer geek is forced to go out into the field with Sidney and when they are caught by guards Marshall shouts to them in a foreign language to distract them. When Sidney asks him what he said, he said, "I can smell you from here" in Ewok, And then mumbles and tells her about the official language of the ewoks.

Two of Sydney Bristows' friends are watching a movie. Will, a journalist says the movie they are watching is the greatest, Francie, Sydneys other friend replies why couldn't you pick a better movie. She lists a few and Empire Strikes Back is one of them. E

    The Simpsons:
Duff Man, who has earlier taken the side of Corporate Duff Man against righteous Homer, is forced between choosing the right thing and saving Homer or throwing him out of Duff park (home of the Springfield Isotopes.) Duff Man rebels against Corporate Duff Man, picking him up over his head and throwing Corporate Duff Man over the outfield wall. This, of course, is a rip on Darth Vader chucking the emperor over the (always present and convenient in the Star Wars saga) pit in the throne room at the end of Return of the Jedi.

A lady comes into the comic book store with some junk from her son's closet to trade in. It features the first script written by George Lucas, Leia's anti-jiggle bra tape, and the Star Wars alternate ending where Chewie is Luke's father. The comic book man will only pay $5 for it, and almost gets the sale, when Bart tells her she's being ripped off, ruining the sale. So, Bart and Milhouse are put on the 'Banned For Life' pictures (along with George Lucas).

    Futurama:
Bender get's hit on the head, and an electric pulse flips him over. He starts wriggling and beeps like Artoo.

Bender gets eaten by the killer whale on Pluto, then spat out, to end up upside down on his head, he make's a R2D2 sound as he falls onto his back. It took me back to ESB and that scene of R2D2 falling in ANH!

The characters were visiting some kind of theme park called "Past-O-Rama" where they try to re-create what it would look like in the year 2000 something (as you may or may not know, Futurama is set in the year 3000). Anyway, as they are visiting this theme park, they come across an old movie theater and the marquee says "Star Wars 9 - Yoda's Bar Mitzvah".

    ER:
The ER was swamped and understaffed and Carol Hathaway was trying to take care of many things and talking to a nurse that came down from the OBGYN to help out. This nurse was also Hathaway's nurse when she gave birth.
"You're a med student?" asked Hathaway.

"What can I say, I crossed over to the Dark Side." replied the nurse

    Dawson's Creek:
While contemplating attending a party, Pacey says to Dawson, "Is this doubt I'm hearing young Skywalker? (an obvious comparison between the morally pure Dawson and Luke). And it continues:
Pacey: "Your hero's journey begins now my friend."

Dawson: "Pacey Witter, poor man's Yoda."

Pacey: "Actually, I always considered myself more of the Han Solo type; rogueish good looks, devil-may-care attitude."

    (Enter Jack)

Pacey: "Hey, here comes my Chewbacca!"

Later on, on the verge of going to said party, Joey opts to go saying, "Someone's gotta keep Dawson from falling to the Dark Side."

    Survivor:
as the contestants were going through a endurance challenge, (standing for HOURS on logs that were sticking up out of the water) one of the already defeated contestants was trying to pursuade one of the log standers to jump off the log....as he offers a junk food snack he tells the remaining contestants -
"come on over to the DARK SIDE!"

    MadTV:
Had a skit about What George Lucas does at the Ranch.

    Batman:
Batman Beyond (7/23/00) The characters were in the middle of a virtual video game.
There was a ship that looked vaguely like a Tie Fighter chasing them. One of the characters yelled out "I cant shake 'em" and this was of course a Star Wars reference.

Spin City: The main character hits someone with a bus, and when the press asks about it, he says "There is no story" while waving his hand. One of the reporter asks "Are you trying to use a Jedi mind trick?"
At the end of the episode, he denies to the guy's girlfriend who he hit with the bus. He says "I never told you that I tried to hit him with the bus". She, of course doesn't believe it. So after she leaves he says "This has been a dark day for the Jedi mind trick."

    South Park:
    1. Sally Struthers as Jabba the Hutt. She was even in a setting like Jabba's
palace. They showed Salacious Crumb and Kenny was even frozen in carbonite. She had a space ship that

In Insider 65 there's a list of the many many Star Wars references in Buffy, though I think you got some already. Seems the show's writers are big fans.

EDIT: Just read the mod's topic at the top of the board.

Discussion of TV shows that mention Star Wars or have Star Wars Parodies (eg. 70's Show, Simpsons, Futurama Star Wars references) are not what this forum has been set up for, and should be discussed in Your Jedi Council Community.

    Guess this thread's a no-no then.

    I like this thread!

    The Simpsons
There was this episode where Homer becomes bodyguard.
    He protects Mark Hamill.
Hamill : "Homer, use the forks!"
    Homer : "The Force?"
    Hamill : "No, the forks!"

    Stargate SG-1
When the team goes back to 1969 they were captured and interogated.
When they asked O'Neill's name he says : "My name is Skywalker, Luke Skywalker." Or something like that ...

Their were more in Stargate and The X-Files but I can't remember them.
I seem to remember something about an episode of The X-Files with a lady who saw Star Wars more than 500 times and thought that Mulder was Luke ...

    The Dave Chapelle(sp?) Show:
There will be an Episode that will feature a Star Wars sex scandal. It will involve Yoda and possibly Darth Vader.

I am trying to think of more.

There were quite some with Star Wars in it.
I will try to find it and post it here ...

Nice idea, but considering that almost every tv show made since '77 will reference SW in one way or another, would it not be easier to list the shows that haven't?

That's pretty funny Zee, but wouldn't be nice to have a whole "Data-bank" of references??? It would be great!!!

We have only scratched the surface of the references made on TV shows.

Joe puts a camera inside a Boba Fett figure to help Jimmy win at poker. Joe also builds a sort of headpiece to view the camera and in one of the funniest scenes ever, Boba Fett is tossed out a high-rise window as Joe wakes up with his headgear on and immediately thinks he has been thrown out a window. A running gag was that everyone kept asking who Boba Fett was and Dave kept giving the typical SW fanboy explanation of "intergalactic bounty hunter that captured Han Solo in Bespin . . ."

    NewsRadio
Matthew pretends to go to Japan and gives Dave a samauri sword as a present. Alone in his office, Dave picks up the sword and says, "If you strike me down Vader, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine."

    The A Team
Face is impersonating a movie mogul to get his film made. Hannibal comes in to warn him the Army is outside, but Face is still trying to strike up deals as they exit the room. Hannibal grabs Face and tells him, "Face, you're not George Lucas!" (Not necessarily a Star Wars reference, but fun nonetheless.)

    MADTV:
Had a skit showing the "Star Wars Special ultimate director's cut Edition" with newly added scenes.
    The scenes featured were:
-Han Solo escaping the storm trooper scene (He was running toward his ship with a gun in his hands).
-Han Solo fleeing Jabba the Hutt's forces. (He was running toward his ship with a gun in his hands).
-Han Solo running because he heard a noise.(He was running toward his ship with a gun in his hands. His dialogue was, "CHEWIE, I HEARD A NOISE, A BIG NOUISE").
-And the Han Solo running down the hallway scene. (He was running toward his ship with a gun in his hands).

CBS actually used that Raymond clip in a promotion that ran concurrent with the opening of the Phantom Menace. CBS called it "Prequel Monday" where all the Monday night comedies were "look backs" at the earlier times during the histories of the shows. (Like how Doug and Carrie met on the King of Queens, etc.) The font for CBS Prequel Monday was a knock-off of the Star Wars font and that quote from Raymond was the perfect thing to capitalize on the Phantom Menace hype.

    Whose Line Is It Anyway?

In the game called Sound Effects Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles act out a scene while 2 members from the audience provide sound effects.

In one game Colin and Ryan were 2 Jedi who check there gear and spaceship before going to attack the Death Star. The sound effects were very bad making the scene even funnier.

The girl who was providing Colin's sound effects laughed instead of doing a lightsaber effect and Colin responded by saying "I have such a happy saber."

The guy gave Ryan a lightsaber sound to soon and Ryan pretended that he cut his leg off.

Colin tried to use a big gun to blow up an asteroid. He said "Cover your ears this is going to be loud." he pulled the the trigger and the girl's sound effect was

    "Ka Boom"

There are many more Star Wars references on
Whose Line Is It Any Way? I'll put some more up as I remember them. :D

I saw the funniest thing last night on the Comedy Channel with Dave Chapelle. Basically Yoda and the council were accused of giving drugs to kids and behaving sexually inappropriate. Yoda held a press conference. They also showed him doing drugs with another Jedi. Later on, Mace held a press conference. The final part was a candid interview about the sexual abuse suffered by Darth Vader. Chapelle asked Vader to point on the Darth Vader doll where he was touched and Vader pointed to the rear end and cried.

See my sig. This is from the first season, where Bart leads a revolt against the Bullies.

also, in the X-files, the ep. was called "Small Potatos", where there was this shift changing guy. The guy changed into Luke Skywalker, and went to some dunder-head female friend's house(you should have heard her talk) who didn't like him. She of course, put out for Luke. And she told Scully and Mulder "he was singing this song" and she starts, well, not humming, but sortof, the fanfare we get at the beggining of the movie. Mulder asked if he (Luke) brought his lightsaber. Also, the woman was trying to see ep. IV like 1000 times before Memorial Day.

On "Muppet Babies", they did a whole skit on "Star Wars", with Kermit as Luke (Skyhopper?) Rolf as obi-wan, and Animal plays Animal Vader. Funny part is Rolf tells Kermit to use the force to blow up the Death Star, and so Kermit
is "consitrating" and looks like he is trying to pass a log, he was concentrating so hard.

    Really small reference.

on Moonlighting, Maddie is going out with Mark Harmon, who is an astronaut. David drunkenly interrupts their dinner and refers to Harmon as "Luke Skywalker".
