Saga Star Wars Return of the Jedi Infinities fanfic (one of my first, go easy on me)

I've always thought of a comic series that retells the movies. Like Infinities, but in a serious manner. Maybe not non-canon, but its a separate continuity, like Ultimate Marvel.

Everything is the same in this one until we get to the battle of Endor. While Leia and the others are on Endor in the ground battle, Han Solo is part of the space battle, leading a team of commandos inside the Death Star, trying to get Luke out of there. The space battle has been a catastrophe for the Rebels, with the Falcon shot down and crashing onto Endor and much of the fleet wiped out.


Luke and Vader are dueling, going normally like in the movie. Luke still severs Vader's hand, the whole scene happens, Palpatine torturing Luke with lightning, then Vader comes in. Rather then flinging the Emperor down the shaft, he pulls out his lightsaber and tries to strike him. Palpatine turns around and pulls out his lightsaber, and they battle. Eventually Vader unarms Palpatine and corners him. Mirroring the Windu/Emperor duel in EPIII.

Luke asks him to spare Palpatine as Vader goes to strike him down, Vader saying he is an evil, dangerous man and cannot be kept alive. He does kill him.


Redeeming himself, Vader throws a thermal detonator into the reactor shaft he was supposed to throw Palpatine into, and tells Luke he has ten minutes to escape, and that he will remain behind to die on the station. Luke begs for him to come.

Suddenly Han and his commandos storm the room. They open fire on Vader. Several shots hit Vader and he stumbles back, and stray shots hit Palpatine's window, shattering it.

As the vaccuum of space pulls everything out, Luke clings to Vader's hand. Vader lets go and is sucked out the window, as are several commandos. The autolock mechanism covers up the hole.

Han approaches Luke and asks him if he is alright.

Luke, enraged, ignites his lightsaber, and the scene cuts out.









On Endor, Luke claims to Leia that Han died as the Death Star blew.













In the Ewok village, Vader's body is found. He actually managed to survive, the oxygen mask kept him alive in space, though he was pulled into Endor's gravity and his suit burned as he entered the atmosphere.













Luke cremates his Father's remains. A sinister look in his eyes.

 

Is this just an outline for a story? or was that it?

I can see great possibility with an AU on this one...

 

I would second that opinion it sounds like a good start

 

It was an outline, not the entire thing, I was just getting the basics down (I really don't wanna post any dialogue, I'm almost as bad as Lucas )

and I'm sorry, what is AU? Alternate universe?

I only thought of this last night, I only pulled the main ideas together, I'll eventually put together an entire story. Of course leading into follow ups with post ROTJ alternate universe with Luke's fall to the dark side.
