Star Wars tattoos

I want to get a Star Wars tattoo...I already plan on getting the Imperial and Rebel symbols on my arm at a later time...but I want one on my upper arm. I don't want a character or a weapon or anything...something along the line of the Imperial and Rebel symbols...like a logo or something. Not an actual Star Wars logo...a logo of something from Star Wars.
Any ideas?
And while we're on the subject...does anyone have any Star Wars tattoos?

Well, there was already an established topic on this, but since it was locked, there's no problem with this being the new one, then.

I do not have any Star Wars tattoos, however-- but I'm only 16, so there's still a bunch of time....

I REALLY want a tattoo of Yoda on my back, you know the bit in AOTC where he`s just taken out his lightsaber, and he looks REALLY p****d off? Trouble is, my girlfriend keeps really moaning at me whenever I talk about it!!!!

C'mon Benny what the hell? I know you and your girl might be serious but whose body would the tattoo be on? Hers or yours? I say get it and if she doesn't like it then she doesn't have to look at it. Of course this is coming from the guy who has red and green lightsabers crossing on his back.

QUESTION: Do tatoos really hurt as much as people say they do?

 

They hurt, but not as much as people fear it to be. For me the worst part was waiting before I had it done, wondering what it was like. But once it happened I was fine with it.

 

Depends on where you get it Jaggy. I've got 6 and they all hurt. Some more than others. Also depends if the artist has a soft hand or a heavy hand while he's inking you.

It also depends on if you end up liking that sort of pain. There's more than one reason tattoos are addictive.

I think a cool SW tattoo would be a full back piece with the section of the Forest Moon of Endor and the Death Star in orbit... You could then fill in the space between with ships, etc...

Or a section of the battle of Hoth would be cool as a full back piece... Maybe an AT-AT or two with those crazy rebels flying between their legs.

 

I've wanted to get the Rebel Alliance symbol in the small of my back. 'Cause it's always good to be a rebel.

You could also randomly spell something out with the Aurebesh. I was looking to get one written in the Tengwar (Elvish script), but for Star Wars people, the Aurebesh could work...


Or you could go all out...

I either want a Saesee Tiin or Plo Koon one just a big shot of their face on my back staring at you. For the Saesee Tiin one I would have him look like the picture at the top right hand corner of his databank page on the Starwars web page.

That all depends on how inebriated you are

Acutally, it's not that bad. I have one on my shoulder blade, a place I was told would be rather painful to tattoo, but it didn't bother me anymore than my arms.


Does anyone know any good tips to cover a tat with a tat? I'd love the Imperial symbol on my arm but Marvin the Martian is in the way.

ObiwanJohn - You should talk to the artists at your local tattoo shop. They would be able to tell you if they could cover up Marvin with the Snowflake.

P.S. Don't drink before you get a tattoo -- you'll bleed more which means you'll scab more which means your tattoo will come out "rougher" looking.

 

As in drink, do you mean any kind of drinks or "the other" kind of drinks like in beer and stuff?

 

Yes, "other" drinks -- Anything with alcohol in it... The alcohol thins your blood.

 

You should definitely talk to your local tattoo artist ObiWanJohn about doing a cover up. I'm trying to find a design to cover up one on my arm.

Since we are giving out pointers, if/when you get a tattoo don't pick at it or scratch it at all until all the scabs have fallen off by themselves (even after it is fully healed you still shouldn't pick or scratch at it at all). If you do scratch or pick then you risk the chance of messing up your design.
