Even besides the better author, this sounds a lot more interesting than the other one.

Awesome author, and a plot that sounds like, um, a plot instead of a character class showcase? This actually sounds good.

Cool! I just hope Kemp doesn't write the jedi temple looking like in the video.

Edit: Oh, and yet another pre-Bane "darth" :p

"You can pre-order it today from Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Borders."

I can't see this at Amazon yet?

Amazon's entry doesn't have the title yet, but the link is on the TOS page.

Looks awesome! But I won't comment on the plot yet, since we know so little about it. But it sounds like it might fit Kemp, if it's similar to Crosscurrent.

So this takes place before the Cold War. Isn't Fatal Alliance during the Cold War? Does this mean Deceived takes place before Fatal?

And so we have our first Darth of TOR, I do believe. Darth Malgus, hmm. Not too keen on "Malgus" as a name, but this novel sounds like my kinda thing. I'll definitely be picking it up.

"Darth", seriously?, I hope at least it is only top sith that get to Darths unlike the "one Sith" where every Tomick, han and, can't think of a Star Wars name that starts with 'd', gets the name darth

Can't wait for this :D This does sound more interesting than the previous installment--plus anything based on that killer trailer is automatically cool in my book.

Don't much care for the author, but the cover dose look great. Deceived is written by Paul S. Kemp with the BioWare and LucasArts teams' full cooperation and creative consultation to bring an accurate account of the explosive incident and the ruthless man behind it.

Gee, maybe Del Rey could take a lesson from LucasArts. :D

I'm not sure if I'll buy this, I suppose I'll just have to see what my financial situation is at the time. Though, I thought I saw this slated as a paperback some time ago.

I know it's been said but....sheesh are the TOR Sith designs ever uninspiring.

    December 28? [face_plain]

But it sounds awesome anyway. The author of Crosscurrent, which was the best Star Wars book I've read in years, on the same level as Labyrinth of Evil, writing about a Sith from a game trailer better than anything from the prequels. Like the name Darth Malgus as well.

Hmmm. Darth Malgus. Well I guess Darth is not restricted to only the Emperor or maybe his Shadow Hand. Unless Malgus is on the Dark Council (doesn't look that way) then it's not restricted to the Council either, so that's a bit disappointing.

    Still, it should be fun.

Holy ****!!! I just watched the trailer, wow. They way Darth Malgus kills that Jedi Master was quite impressive. We now get to see where Darth Sidious inherited the technology to keep Anakin Skywalker alive. I have zero desire to play a role playing game and truly despise them, but I will definitely buy this book. Kemp is a great author and I loved Crosscurrent.

    I can't wait!!

On a side note, was the first Sith leaving the spacecraft wearing Revan's mask? Check it out - HERE

Too slow, that has been discussed for ages. :p

All the Sith in the video, bar Malgus, is wearing a mask (and battle robes, for that matter) that are similar to Revan's'. There are differences, however; their masks have two holes for the eyes, for instance.

The trailer is pretty awesome though. Not many were that keen on TOR until Decieved came out. :p

When did that trailer come out? It would also seem that the redeemed Revan once again became corrupted to the Dark Side. Wearing similar masks is a sign of respect, IMO.

Hahaha...that's what I get for being anti-WoW and all other life draining RPGs [face_laugh]

Oh well, I was still extremely impressed and no doubt those mask definitely have some sort of meaning connected to Revan.

From his description on his character profile, this might actually be the first SW novel in a while that I've been tempted to pick up (aside from the Knight Errant novel), especially if they can tie some of the horrors of the Unknown Regions from that new role-playing guide into his travels.

    I'm cautiously optimistic!

    [face_mischief]

Anyway...he is getting his own novel? Not even Shan, a descendent of Revan and Grand Master of the Jedi Order gets her own novel (unless they haven't announced it yet) ...so, how important is this guy to the story?

No, there is ZERO proof that Satele Shan is related to Revan. Yes, she is a direct descendant of Bastila Shan, but all that is said about Revan is that she "may have been" related to him. I'll be %^&*ed off if she's connected to him

There is the whole "if Darth Revan's blood flows in her veins" line. Not only that, the Aurebesh in her Bio translates to "Blood of Revan." That's pretty much proof to me.

Just curious, why do you dislike her being Revan's descendant?
