The cool part is, it's got new art for characters, a number of which (mainly FFG ones) we've never had art for before. Example: Rexler Brath (TIE/Defender pilot introduced in Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels) - now that's a SW 'stache Galleries of images: Dark Side Characters Light Side Characters Shout out to BoxerlessBossk on reddit
who did the character art and does he have a website or email? I need better resolutions and if existing full body shots! any other ingame art? when does the game release?
Marrek Stele is back, according to Fantasy Games articles. Wookieepedia has a policy on what is canon and what isn't now from the books depending on their release date and content.
May have something to do with how with bigger characters, bringing them back into canon (if this game is considered canon?) leads to all sorts of confusion on which stories actually happened? Though it seems to have worked out pretty well for Thrawn, so *shrugs*.
That's a common argument, but I don't buy it. Especially in this case, as General Weir and Colonel Vessery only existed in stories featuring Tycho as a main character. Vessery being in this game doesn't make Isard's Revenge canon any more than Tycho being in the game would make Isard's Revenge canon.
Vessery isn't that much of a deep cut- he's one of the TIE/D pilots in FFG's Xwing game, which the developers of this game obviously used for references (half the FO pilots are Xwing only characters). Tycho, otoh, is a bit of a question mark. Tycho was in Xwing, but when they relaunched with the 2nd edition 2 years ago, he didn't make the transition. This despite they kept Legends people like Fel, Phennir, and Corran (and even added Gavin Darklighter). So no one really knows why Tycho in particular has been cut (maybe has to with Shara Bey taking his role, whereas none of the others really have a NuCanon analog?).
Game is made by Joymax, a South Korean studio. Their web presence, however, leaves much to be desired; currently the company webpage is all about a different game and the official Starfighter Missions website currently redirects to the SW main page (probably just until the game releases). Game releases I believe Oct 7, though it's in early release in Korea and Japan I think. There is an official email listed on the Play Store; no idea if that would get you anywhere. Or you could try a vpn to download and check the game credits, or scour the web and see if anyone has uploaded that part yet (warning- finding search results for this game is tough with all the previous game with "Starfighter" in the title ). Extended gameplay footage: Looks like there's a few more characters that didn't make the image gallery
