    The young Twi?lek?s thoughts were confused, her mind searching for an explanation. Where was she?

    Wherever she was, it was completely dark.

    She tentatively stepped forward, being mindful of the space surrounding her.

    Out of the inky blackness, there suddenly came a voice. It was a young man?s voice, somewhat familiar.

    ?You won?t have to suffer anymore . . . I?m here to save you.?

    It was then that the Twi?lek realized who was speaking to her.

    ?Luke Skywalker!?
    Her heart raced. He hadn?t forgotten her after all. She would be free, finally.

    ?Where are you?? she called.

    The reply came even as the place was flooded with light.

    ?I?m right here.?

    But it wasn?t Skywalker that greeted her. It was another Twi?lek, her skin chalk-white and a cold smirk on her face. She held a dagger.

    ?What are you doing?? the girl asked, frightened.

    ?Fulfilling your wish. You said,? Lyn Me hissed, ?that life here was so miserable you wanted to die. Let me oblige.?

    Lyn Me smiled with satisfaction and raised the dagger. She was laughing as the other screamed, pleading that someone, anyone, would hear her. But no one came.

    The light was suddenly extinguished as her cries welled up and were lost...

    * * *

    Oola sat up, rigid with terror, hoping that no one had heard her scream. She listened; not a soul stirred. The green-skinned Twi?lek took deep breaths, trying to calm her wildly beating heart.

    It was one of her nightmares again. They had started when Jabba had made her his personal slave girl. They weren?t as frightening then?mostly being a vision of herself being abused by Bib Fortuna or another palace inhabitant.

    But this was the first one where she had died.

    Shoving that horrible thought out of her mind, Oola thought about the other one in the dream. Lyn Me.

    * * *

    She was again reminded of what she had known the moment her best friend had died at Jabba?s Palace.
    Lyn Me hated her.

    It didn?t seem that way, not at first. When she had first met Lyn Me, she was quiet and kind. She told Oola many wonderful tales about Jabba?s Palace. About how the food was great, how Jabba kept his dancers well fed and happy, how, after all, it was a palace.

    She lied.

    The moment she arrived, Oola was roughly shoved into a dank cell, receiving one small meal a day, and only being released when called upon to dance.

    She remembered an earlier slave girl Jabba had had, a rather homely pink-skinned Rodian named Chayda.

    Despite her plain features, or perhaps because of them, Chayda would always reassure Oola whenever the Twi?lek felt sad or hopeless. Oola, too, would encourage Chayda whenever she felt down.

    The two of them shared a bond, the kind that can only exist in the truest friendships.

    Until one fateful day, Jabba had had enough of the way she was so cheerful. The way she would always reassure the hopeless but resist his advances.

    Oola?s heart had stood still the moment his fist slammed down on the button that controlled the trap door.

    Chayda's features were contorted in an expression she had never shown before. Fear.

    * * *

    And through it all, Lyn Me was laughing at her. Laughing at her screams and the silence that followed.

    Oola had stood frozen in shock. Chayda was dead. She would never come back. Ever.

    And then the tears started to flow down her cheeks, stopping only when she fell asleep from exhaustion.

    * * *

    As Oola recalled all this, she realized that she was crying. Her face was stained with tears.

    And as she continued to mourn for her friend, she heard a sarcastically sweet voice behind her.

    ?Is something wrong?? Lyn Me crooned.

    Oola?s face flushed with rage. She wanted to hurt her, make Lyn Me feel the pain she now felt. But for some reason she couldn?t.

    ?Why? Why are you doing this? Why do you hate me?? Oola gasped, her eyes again welling up with tears.

    Lyn Me sneered.

    ?Because you love Boba Fett.?

    Oola gasped.

    ?What??

    Lyn Me smiled, satisfied.

    ?I know. I found you out. You

    Jedi_Knight15: Thanks! Sorry there isn't more, but it was just a story about Oola's final days at the Palace. Some is from the EU, but most of it is made up. :)

    I dunno, cool word, I just like the sound of it. =) Actually, very fitting word as well.
