Stormtrooper/Snowtrooper outfits=Klansmen?

I thought I posted this topic before, but since a search did not yield a thing, I suppose I didn't.

Am I the only one who is reminded of the KKK hoods when I see the stormtrooper helmets? Even more so with the snowtroopers of TESB-the helmets are almost EXACTLY like that of the Ku Klux Klan.

No, they remind me off the KKK to.

 

But the Snowtrooper doesn't have a pointed helmet!

 

The main difference is that the only fat stormtroopers you see are fans in costume, while there are plenty of fat klansmen.

I never really thought about that before to be honost. Though now that I see the resemblance in the snowtroopers helmet, it reminds me of the Empire's anti-alien policy (EU). THough I can't see the klans hood in the stormtrooper helmet.

The helmets don't have a pointy top, but otherwise, yes, those snowtrooper helmets do look eerily like KKK hoods.

 

I can see the resemblence...but since I knew about SW long before I knew about the KKK, it would have been the other way around ("hey, those Klansman look like stormtroopers")

If the Klan started issuing battle armor and blasters to its members, then yes...snowtroops would resemble Klansmen.

As it is now...No....they look nothing like klansmen.
