Strange Brew

I started a thread about this back around Christmas, but I can't find it, so here it is again...

Strange Brew is one of the funniest movies I've seen... everyone needs to rent it right now.

Take off you hoser!

 

I haven't heard of it, but you say I should watch it, so take a few minutes and do a better job of selling it to me. Tell me generally what it's about, what genre it is, why I should watch it (preferably without spoiling it).

 

Is that, that thing about two Canadian Slackers who are on a public access channel.

 

Think of Strange Brew as the Canadian Casablanca.

What gives? It's one of the quintessential beer-drinking college student films (along with Animal House and Dumb and Dumber) and you've never heard of it?

BTW, any film with Max von Sydow in it is worth watching.

 

It's about two Canadian guys who make a really bad movie and then give some guy a refund, then can't afford beer for their dad. So they put a mouse in a beer bottle and say it was always like that. Then they save the owner of the beer company's daughter, and she gets them jobs. Then they do a bunch of other stuff.

 

Great movie. And ousley, why aren't you in school right now? You hoser.

I hardly think IN is on the Pacific coast, you hoser.

 

I must mention that the movie was shot in 3B. 3 Beers and it looks good, eh?

Please. The Mackenzie Brothers kicked the crap out of this movie's attempt at Canadian humor.

I may have to check this movie out, if it's so highly recommended... eventually.

 

I've seen all the old SCTV clips online too, those were funny as well. It's the Canadian version of SNL.

SCTV was great too. Who knew ousley had such good taste in entertainment?

 

Speaking of old comedy movies, I'm watching Bill and Ted at the moment.

 

Strange Brew is my #1 all time favortie comedy. Above Waiting for Guffman, Three Amigos, and Major League. Honestly the first time I watched Strange Brew is didn't like it much but it quickly became the most quotable movie and my high school days.

I liked the theme song to their cable show. Once it's in your head it never leaves.
