My sister was watching this and she had to come out and repeat something to me . . . They were talking about uniqueness apparently, and one of the girls stated something to the effect of:

"It is very un-Suicide Girl to box yourself in a label."

What kind of perverse show would be about young women committing suicide? Don't we have enough problem with emos already?

The irony of nonconformism is that by attempting to be nonconformist, they are in fact being conformist.

Is it the first tour movie, or the Italian movie? Because most of the girls in the Italian movie, couldn't speak very good English. It's possible she screwed up what she was trying to say.

I don't mind it. I'm fine with the girls. I'm fine with fans of the girls . . . I just can't stand it when someone's a fan and tries to sell themselves as having some higher/superior level of pornographic interest, or something. :p

I dunno, it was on the Real Sex program. My sister would have taken English being an extra language into account . . . I think you could say the . . . company? business? network? whatever. I think you could say the thing as a whole has uniqueness as far as it goes when it comes to mainstream interests, but because it holds that as a sum doesn't mean all its parts hold it too, heh.

And we love naked chicks. People just need to admit that that's what they're in it for, ha ha.

I've always admired their philosophy. The site shows that girls that are airbrushed, or cosmetically enhanced in glossy publications like Playboy, aren't the only beautiful women on the planet. I wouldn't classify the site as pornographic, It's more of a modern burlesque.

It was much better when it started than it is now, because a lot of the newer Suicide Girls don't even have tats, or coloured hair. That was always the coolest part about the site, it gave girls that didn't fit into the norm a forum.

:D This thread reminds me of the ultimate quote of hypocrisy from any movie ever.

"Only a Sith deals in absolutes!" - Obi-Wan Kenobi, ROTS

That still makes me cringe every single time I hear it.

Well, it's more a label for girls who don't fit a label... but still a label.

    Hypocrisy at its finest.. :p

People who call everything emo whine so much they should take their own advice.

But still, there's such an emphasis on physical beauty. Certainly they allow for personality with journals and such- but people don't join and give money for that. They're there for pictures of (their definition of) hawt chicks. I think it's good that the ideals are a little more attainable, but it isn't really encouraging girls to be individuals. My ex was really into them and had an account and some friends on the site. A lot of it seems to be filled with drama . . . And I meet girls who aspire to being a suicide girl or give someone a compliment by saying, "You could be a Suicide Girl!" and it's just depressing that people need that kind of validation. I think that kind of thinking is terrible regardless of what flavor of superficially-oriented standards you're judging yourself on. Certainly, someone could go about it all in a healthy way and benefit from the group, and if an suicide girl doesn't feel any negative effects from it then I'm not going to claim she's secretly hurting inside. But it's far closer to playboy than it is to an ideal expression of diversity and diverse beauty within the female sex. So when people treat it as such I get annoyed. Especially if those people happen to be guys I'm loving and screwing. ;)

He and this chick are so made for each other. :)

. . . And how did that make you feel?
