Hey i just saw Superman Returns for the 3rd time last night and during the skin when Lex gets ready to shoot the kryptinite into the water with the missle, the music that is playing sounds JUST like the Hulk (movie) music. I haven't watch the hulk movie in awhile, but i'm pretty sure its the same music. To me it sounds like its the exact same music taken from one movie and added to another.

I dont have the hulk movie to confirm this, but does anyone know what i 'm talking about or did i just total forget what music plays in the movie hulk?

I wouldn't watch either one of those films again for twenty bucks, but I vaguely remember thinking that the Superman Returns music was familiar.

    Good Call!

I was skeptical until I popped in both movies and compared them. The scene you describe is remarkably similar to the Hulk Theme, but sadly its not the SAME theme. Both scores untitilize a decending note pattern that makes them sound very similar but having listened to them both I can tell with certainty they are not the same theme.

But until you pointed that out I had never noticed.

There is an actual forum for film music on this site.

Maybe they're done by the same composer, but it's not the same music.

No Hulk was composed by Danny Elfman (an unusual score for his consistent style) and I beleive Superman Returns was scored by John Ottman who utilized themes developed and orchestrated by John Williams for the 1978 Superman: The Movie Score.

Sweet at least i wasn't off on the part where they sound the same. this is my 3rd time watching Superman returns, but this time when i was watching that scene it just hit me (i saw parts of the hulk movie on TV months ago, but i still remembered the music). I couldn't believe how similar they sounded.

At lease if the movies where from the same company, like if they were both DC, but know superman and hulk are different company.

Well i'm glad to hear that my theory was right. I would love to pop both the movies in and see how similar the music is.

It wouldn't matter that the comics they were based on were from different companies. They could re=use the score if the films were made by the same film company, but I'm not sure what company made Hulk.

    EDIT:
    During the what? :p

It doesn't even matter then. Die Hard's score used several tracks from other movies.

Horner's score for Aliens does not work in Die Hard, IMO.

I'm glad this issue has been raised, many were the nights I'd wake in cold sweat having dreamt that Superman used The Hulk's tunes, thank you JCC, now I can return to fitful slumber.

I've seen situations where I don't quote people, and someone else's post will wedge right in between the one I want to follow.

    EDIT: There, You see?
