I?m really enjoy SWCCG game and also like what PC doing, but permission restrictions for new images (yeah, they try to do their own, but not faster than two per year :( ) is create some problems mainly for newcomers. Players Committee doesn?t allow any kinds of dream cards but during online play in Holotable, we can use any image what we want. ;D And for those personal purposes some of us create homemade cards, as do it I. And I want in this topic show my works in this direction and also want to see yours ? let?s add new colors to the game what we love!!!

P.S. I use two versions for Galen?s Fighter ? you may make your choice. ;)

P.P.S. If someone from PC is watching this ? please create all major characters from EU even with unclear name ? we can remake them properly ourselves. :D

I have to say, I like the work you've been doing Galak. Some of the cards sound exactly like something I'd expect to pull out of a fresh pack. As I said in my other post, I can't run holotable, but I'm always up for some collaboration/discussion on card mechanics and game balance.

The first version of the Rouge Shadow seems the better of the two, but I'd strike the "Galen's Figheter" in the title and replace the reference in text about Galen to "Starkiller". Lots of chances here to do a dark side/light side version of things, like Lando from Cloud City...

I have some Clone Wars themed cards that I made using while experimenting with Adobe...I'll post some of them once exams are finished and I get a chance to upload them...

I look forward to seeing more of each of your's :)

I like some of those fresh cards and images Galak. You should put together a complete "Anthology" pack :)

Is there any reason why we need a "subcommittee" to make these cards? I'm guessing it has something to do with uploading the card images to holotable for those who want to use them online. For just printing them off, however, do we need to make things that "official"? ;)

Ranofer, I like the idea of putting together an "Anthology". What did you have in mind?

Well if I remember right when you bought an anthology box you got a special pack of cards that were premiums. I remember one of the packs had a new leia, a cool R2 in Red 5, a couple objectives and a few other things.

Perhaps work could be done to design a pack of 10 cards or so that would work well with each other.

I think we're at the point of needing our own thread for the Jedi Council Forums Star Wars CCG "Insert Name Here" anthology. :D

If you want to try one and see how it goes I don't have a problem with that.

    Thanks Fett!

I guess the first question then, before we make this official, is what theme we'd want to use for the cards. Personally, after seeing Galak's Rouge Shadow I'd love to work on some more Force Unleashed samples.

    Other suggestions/ideas?

Hrm I dunno. At one time I thought a Jedi Academy set would be cool, and a while back I was thinking a Sith Testing (similar to the Jedi Testing) would be a cool thing.

We probably should decide on the number of cards to make as well.

Sith testing would be a very interesting idea, especially if you use the Anakin's fall in the prequels. Were you thinking about "turning" a light side character to the dark side, or simply training a character who is already dark side?

I was originally thinking to take a person like Mara Jade, or another "apprentice" and training them with a new version of the Emperor, or C'baoth.

I never finished the rules or anything so it was just ideas in the back of my head.

I think Sith Testing would be a cool idea to explore.

The goal with Jedi Training was essentially to buff up Luke (or Leia) as we see in the movies. The only direct parable to Luke's training that I can think of would be that of Starkillers. Thus, I see three options.

    1) We come up with general rules that can apply to any force-user being trained by any Sith in any time period.

    2) We focus on Starkiller's training as our "in-universe" proxy

    3) We use Anakin's fall through the prequels as our model*

*This I could see as being more of an anti-Jedi Test, where in the end you could turn an opponent's character to the dark side...but there are already mechanics for "turning"...

My original idea was to somewhat mirror the LS side's ability to train Jedi's. So I'm not sure it would target Starkiller specifically, but it could work.

I'd really rather release a new Emperor that allowed for training. It was hinted at in the Dagobah expansion but it never came out (PM me for some of the scans of the Playtesting cards).

If we could formulate an expansion around testing, I'd be interested for sure :)

I say lets do a version Emperor as the DS equivalent of Yoda from Dagobah and do a generic Rise of the Republic/Rebellion Era focus on Sith Testing. That way, if we wanted, we could include stuff form the Prequels, Force Unleashed, OT, and any number of EU sources if we wanted (for images and such). This would also limit us in terms of scope and help keep us somewhat focused.

I'd suggest some sort of title like "Power of the Dark Side" for the project/set. ;)

I've got some mechanic ideas, but I'll post those later.

These are great. Do you take requests? I have been playing some Prequel only games and have wanted some prequel pictures inserted in some classic cards... any way you could help me out? I'm looking for a prequel versions of Battle Plan/Order, Combat Response, Blaster Deflection/Force Field (v), Hidden Weapons, and some other basics that the prequels are missing. Think I could get some help? :)

    Feel free to pm me.

I'm not a very big fan of the prequels so I'm probably not the guy to ask about new cards for them. I think it would be cool to decide on maybe two "good" sith apprentices. I'd push for a "Emperor's Hand" (A Mara Jade Apprentice) and some other character. Personally I'd even see putting together a "youngish Vader" similar to a Son of Skywalker.

If we're not careful though, I get the feeling that sith testing could really become harder than jedi testing especially if we don't pick a specific location.

Why not versions of Mara and Galen for Sith Apprentices? Or you could always reference Maarek Steele and the secret Sith society from the TIE Fighter series.

Mara and Galen would be fine I think. Now we'd need to decide on a location. I originally thought Vjun but I never put much more thought into it.

Is Vjun where Galen is trained in Force Unleashed?

No, but it's where Vader had a "hideout" and I thought it might be cool to work with that.

Other suggestions would be Korriban, Wayland (for C'baoth) or maybe some sort of hybrid version that allowed the Sith to train as long as they were at the same location.

    Vjun:

Wow, awesome stuff. Do you frequent the PC's forums? Or DeckTech's forums? If so, whats your handles (screen names)?

I love the Vsets and the PC.

I think the new vader epic event and effects would be cool to see with new better pictures too
