SW CCG is most great Star Wars card game EVER, stronger and interesting than SW TCG, SW Miniatures CMG or SW Pocketmodels. I play them all but SW CCG is Major League of SW gaming. I really enjoy what PC doing, but their ?fear? of dream cards? devastates? :( With Deciphers ?end with SW? we have in face of Players Committee great continues, but so many of us wishes REALLY new cards with characters from EU, animated series or upcoming ?SW the Series?. I understand policy of PC to save the game, but ?Dream Cards? is important part of ?infusion? for a ?new blood? to the game. If anyone know my works for other SW games (you may see ?em here at - http://s314.photobucket.com/albums/ll425/Galak_Fyyar/ - I try to work only in a ?TOP? quality) ? they know about my abilities for Dream Cards making. And with this ? I want create some sort of ?subcommittee? ? which create REALLY new product ? SW CCG cards, based on TCW Animated Series. With this first post I want show you how may look Captain Rex in SW CCG environment:

    [image=http://i314.photobucket.com/albums/ll425/Galak_Fyyar/rwdb.jpg]

What YOU thinking about this new ?subcommittee?? We can create new cards like it doing the PC ? in printable PDF format. We can make unseen previously characters, endless ensemble of cards, which PC is only see in they dreams :D With respect to Players Committee, SW CCG is always on top, but with our ?subcommittee?, even unofficial, the game open new horizons of playing.

Interesting concept. I'm intrigued by this project, do you have a forum, or site where I can go to learn more about your project?

My first question would be, what exactly do you mean by Dream Cards? My computer is an old pre-intel Mac so unfortunately I cannot run holotable on it. As such I'm a little out of the loop when it comes to the Virtual Sets put out by the Players Committee and what restrictions are placed on them and by whom. Do they have a specific policy against EU cards?

For interests sake I though I'd post a version of Rex I did a over a year ago while watching the first season of the Clone Wars. I decided to keep the same mechanics of SW:CCG but changed around the layout to reflect a "new" version of the game, one set within the Clone Wars itself.

Nicely done on that custom card. I'm glad to see people are still out there working on new projects and such. I always seeing what new things people come up with :) Kudos, how did you create the scratched effect on the back?

I used an image of scratched sheet metal and then used the overlay option in Photoshop to "ghost" the republic cog and coloured stripes on top to make them look like part of the original image. The effect I was going for was the side of a beat up AT-TE or similar vehicle. In the end I was pretty please with how the back turned out.

I'm not as much of a fan of the front layout, but as I said earlier I wanted to come up with a design that looked different from the "Rebellion" era cards but played the same.

Here are the versions I did of Anakin and Obi-Wan. Enjoy!

Alright I wondered if that was what you had done...thought maybe there might be a brush or some sort of texture for Photoshop.

I like the cards, just a few changes and I think they really could be pretty cool.

I was doing some custom cards for Fight Klub and then I started thinking...I kind of like that side thing...maybe if we created a new template for the old Decipher game...then maybe that could be cool :)

I'd be down for coming up with a new template, especially if we're thinking about doing "themed" sets which might give us some artistic direction.

The hardest thing I found when working on the Clone Wars layout was fitting all the information on the card in a way that made sense.

I'm assuming we'd want these cards to be playable, even if we change them stylistically.

That'd be my plan. I mean unless we make them playable people will just kinda look at them and go "Oh that's cool".

Personally if I had my way I'd push for a 30-60 card set that offered something new to play with. Personally I'm in a dead zone when it comes to SWCCG but I don't mind helping people enjoy the game :)

If I REALLY had my way I'd push to design a new starter deck and publish it as a PDF so people could print it off and get interested in the game once again. But that'll never happen ;)

Hey, I always said I wanted to put on my own Star Wars gaming convention, and I've managed to get two off the ground so far (even if they have been pretty small scale...).

I'd love to put together a starter set as well, but we could easily do that later on once we have a feel of what we want to have as our core theme for something like that. I've certainly got enough card ideas in my head to put together something for the CW movie alone...

Haven't really done any lately, so nothing really to show.

Someone asked me to look at a Starcraft game and possibly design a template for it. Haven't had a lot of time lately but...

Was also playing around with a design for a new flier, but it never got off the ground:

Nice flier, when was the No Disintigrations set scheduled to be released by the PC?

Never. I just made that as a mock up for them to use, or get me to make new ones, but they never took me up on it. *shrugs* Guess it just happens that way.

Yeah, they are busy and have a ton of things to do. The flier looks nice though.

Ranofer, do you play LOTR TCG too?

I did at one time. I don't play much anymore because the player body here died and it's hard to get anything started back up now that Video games are more popular (and less expensive).

    [image=http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m218/Ranofer/SWCCG/Goldenrod.png]

Was playing around with some of the old scans of the Reflections Gold stuff and came up with that one. Not perfect, but I think it's gotta be one of the better 3po images I've seen.

Interesting there Ranofer. I see you took the text of Lars Protocol Droid and gave it a new title and picture. Nice job. Interesting.

Have you offered your services to the PC?

I did at one time but they didn't need anyone at that time.

One of the rules the PC has to play by is the rules set out by LucasArts/LucasFilms, which basically limits the new cards they can produce to cards already in existence, OR people who have created costumes or art specifically for the PC. If they follow the rules they get to keep the ability to release virtual sets, if they don't Lucas shuts them down and then there are no more V-cards.

Yea, I know. Just wondering if you offered them help. You look to be better then FishFleas or cooleo. Would love to see your take on the missions.

I can't say I wouldn't love to try my hand at a mission or two, but I have to say the Fishfleas and Cooleo have both done very well with the restraints put on them. I'm interested to see how the missions play out in the future. You never know, there might be a Ranofer version of a mission in the future :p

    Is that a hint?

I'd love to see if you could do a Darklighter's Farm. Just give it the old premier Lars Farm text though since the PC didnt make it (yet)

Weird. Someone brought up doing some new farming stuff last night in a conversation. I might have to play around with it. See if I can find a good image and maybe mod the game text a little.

For the last several years, I've been bouncing ideas around in my head for a virtual "reset" of the SWCCG game. The idea being that the current state of the SWCCG is extremely complicated, mired in rules, download chains, etc. Also, the licensing problem that severely restricts what kind of cards they can produce.

So, my idea is the strip the rules and card types back down to the basics, and start from scratch. I started working on concepts for the initial releases (nine sets in three blocks covering the OT) and I have actually written most of the cards for the first set. Also, to make the game more open and differentiate it from the original game, it focuses more on the EU and behind the scenes parts of the trilogy, rather than solely mains and their toys.

I'll post up some details in a new thread if anyone is interested. I have most of the concepts mapped out, but I am not graphically inclined enough to do images.

    Thanks, Mo
