I was looking for some help in defining the differences between the two machines. I know that for the speeder bike, you accelerate with the foot pedals, while with the swoop you use the handle bars, like you would with a motorcycle. I can't recall clearly, but I remember reading somewhere that the swoop was basically just a giant engine that a person/being would steer. What are some of the other significant differences between the two? And which of the two is faster?

Swoops are faster and more dangerous, but are usually unarmed.

Can't swoops also be used in the upper atmosphere (provided the pilot has breathing gear)?
