Tenel Ka's Lizard Outfit?

I was thinking of doing a simple version of Tenel Ka's outfit that she wears through out YJK, but I don't know what I could use for scales or what would be the best way to attach them.
Anyone have any ideas?
(if there's already a thread on this, please point me in the right direction )

 

try to find some (brown-orange colored?) fake aligator-skin. Probably be a bit pricey, but worth it.

 

This is a very old thread (it's closed), but it mentions a Tenel Ka costume, and how someone did a Witch of Dathomir costume: has anyone been an extended universe character?. It may help.

 

I used to work for Tandy Leather. We carried some fake aligator skin, and it was cheap as sin. It was made from Bonded Leather (which is sort of like taking leather "dust" and blending it with a bonding agent to make it into sheets...then it gets textured). You might check Tandy Leather for prices and availability.

They usually have "exotic prints" of one kind or another...you may find exactly what you're looking for there...

Some fabric stores carry aligator pleather in a variety of colors.

 

I thought heres was a greenish scales or something from what I saw on the cover of the YJK books. I saw her costume and wanted to do the same, but gave up, I wasn't tall enough, nor had the right body to pull off her look. But I liked how her costume looked.
What about some large sequened fabric sewen in a scale pattern(overlapping) that color? Will that work?


Does anyone have GOOD pis (fulllength) pic of Tanel-Ka anyway?

Oh Dear! I'm sorry, bad typo. I ment Pictures.. <Very embarassed and mortified>. I am so sorry, I was half asleep and didn't proof read. I haven't been able to find any really good ones of Tenel-Ka. only head shots.

Now is her costume a full length armour or merely like a one peice swim suit like the YJK books suggest?

I did it this way: [image= then http://www.theforce.net/multimedia/archive/Images/Expanded_Universe/Characters_Female/Tenel_Ka/tenel-ka.jpg and close it with ]

when you get the image, right click and and choose "view image" that will get rid of everythign except the image itself. no ? or = or background stuff.
