Ok so, I can't figure out how to do this one and unfortunatly, i won't have my server till the 3rd so i can't really show any example of what i'm talking about.... but let's try anyway...
I know everyone in here are geeks... not too bad so far since I bet i'm one too :p
Now the effect I'm referring to is in the intro of the animated serie "Batman Beyond"... you know when it's writing the sins (Apathy, greed, corruption, power, hope...) Well my question is... how can you do a similar text effect???
    Ideas anyone???

Depends on the package you are using.

For One I did, I used 2 to 3 text tracks.

The 1st layer is text, the 2nd and 3rd you can play with. Make the size jump around, add noide or grain effects. Anything you want.

Look at my Tie TV spot over on Atomfilms star wars Fanfilms and you'll see what I mean in the ending credits...

Well, on my site I have the AVATAR Trailer to see http://www.kanefilms.com .

Avatar will be released if it EVER comes out of post.

As for tutorials on the text, it depends on what program you are using. For the Tie Spot, I did that with Media Studio Pro 6. I've since switched to Vegas Video and its pretty much the same procedure. Look at my previous post for a quick how to.

Basically, 3 layers of the same text, The top layer is static (or a little bounce for flair) The bottom 2 you use with stretch, interlace, boucey movement to acheive the same thing I did.

If I have the software you use, I'll be happy to give you more details on how to do that.

any chance of you using MSN?

I got... Photoshop, After Effect, Illustrator, Premiere, AlamDv

If it could be done in AE, that would be just perfect!

I'll bet you anything I could figure it out in AE. I'll need to see what it is, though.

As a wise forumer once said: (I THINK this is verbatim, if it's not, you can bet AWB will tell me)

Gimme the source footage and an hour and I can do anything.

In After Effects you can use the same idea. Use multiple layers of the same rasterized text and just have the bottom 2 layers bounce around, change shape, add grain, whatever, there are no rules.

Sometimes the best effects are come found by accident.

Fig I tried to cut a little clip from the only episode i have but it seems like the only one I have found on Kazaa was edited with a codec that doesn't wanna behave with AE or premiere...
