Mini Series The Acolyte 1.01 - Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

I did not expect to learn, in the very first episode, that the Acolyte was Meebur Gascon.

My interest in this show has officially died.

Welp, just found out Trinity dies in the first 5 minutes. Literally the only reason I had any interest in this show was to see Carrie Ann Moss get this opportunity.

 

I liked the sub plot where Vernestra Rwoh grabbed her trusty light whip, donned a space fedora, and went hunting Sith Holocrons and other ancient artifacts all the while saying the phrase "This belongs in a museum!"

 

I about jumped off the couch when Neo showed up, I thought all the controverse was in the third episode.

she is also in the third episode, as the entire episode is one big flashback sequence, apparently.

 

Agreed, I also like the whole “old depressed Jedi” development they did for her.

That scene with her drinking in a bar because her son was killed by the trade federation and dealing with divorce from her wife was really well done.

 

Is this the one that leads up to when they say “Acolytes Assemble!” and then they all grab their lightsabers and charge towards the Sith?

 

I just loved the Clone War foreshadowing. That vision of the future, seeing Phase 1 Clones, even if a bit blurry, was fantastic to see.

 

From everywhere I read this isn't debuting at 3:00AM rather 9:00PM Eastern time on June 4th which kind of Stinks because I have a Yankees game tomorrow @ 7:05PM may be it will be a quick game?

 

The ads integrated into the plot of the show are gonna be weird at first, especially for those on the no-ads Disney+ Premium plan, but by the end of the first episode we'll all be craving an ice cold Aco Lite.

 

And no one is slick as Gaston nor as quick as Gaston……

I expect a very speedy Sith.

 

Yes go drink a cold one of Aco Lite while watching the first two episodes and don't forget your bowl of Aco-bytes (don't even try to take our ideas Disney!).

 

Fingers-crossed that they lose as quickly as possible!

 

Wow! What an episode! I didn't expect our very own @Bor Mullet to be revealed as the sith master in this show!! Never saw that coming! I guess people will never cease to surprise you.

 

As I have long demonstrated, I am very much full of Sith.

 

I really thought it was great that while we all knew it, the reveal that he was actually in the mask as an early Sith lord really was surprising. This really makes us look at Jar-Jar in a new way.

I loved all the spinning the Jedi character did. Such a neat trick.

 

Oppo Rancisis came slithering like a snake

 

Meebur is the key to all this.

 

Meebur has proven he is capable of the unexpected. I just realized, no cute droids so far as I know, which isn't much.
