I loved The Acolyte and so far I'm loving Skeleton Crew! For me both excellent fun shows with great Star Wars lore! I think there both totally different shows hard to compare. What do you all think?

The Acolyte - terrible. Unfocused, no clear overall point and no one to cheer for. Every character was a mess and it was entirely forgettable. It didn't know what it wanted to be, was trying to be something it didn't end up being because it made no sense and no idea why it exists. The fact you needed director notes to make some sense of what happened says it all, it was an absolute mess.

Skeleton Crew - great. Unfinished of course but clear overall point, characters to get behind and a fun story. It is not trying to be something it isn't, it knows what it is, who it is for and why it exists. You don't need to know much outside the show really to enjoy it.

It's nice to have a show that isn't trying to up another show or pay off a plot thread from another one. Its own thing at the end of the day.

The Acolyte - loved it until I didn't. I'd been really looking forward to this, something new with Jedi. So many wonderful characters to connect to, then slaughter. People did things that made sense, until they didn't. All that potential ruined has left a very bitter taste.

Skeleton Crew - Almost nothing but joy so far. Excellent mystery potential. The kids are not precocious. The dialogue feels honest. Lots of goodness.

That's the big let down for me from The Acolyte. The show itself sucked but more importantly, it stops us getting anything further in that era and that is such a shame. I loved the idea of it, I really just don't understand how it could have gone so badly wrong. It feels like it should have been an easy home run but ended up being an unbelievable strike out. The worst thing they could have done in a whole new time period sandbox was to try and copy something that is already divisive and so that's what they did - remake the prequel trilogy.

I loved the prequel trilogy because while it wasn't perfect by any means, at least it had a point and some iconic moments and was overall fun. The Acolyte was just a worse version of it in almost every single way in a time period where it didn't even make sense. I kind of wish that with the premise it was going for, it just left out the Jedi entirely and focused purely on the Sith. Otherwise, why not call it Jedi adventures or something like that and just set it between The Phantom Menace and Attack of The Clones - this story could have actually even worked in that time period with some major tweaks of course.

Skeleton Crew on the other hand is tight, focused and just a really fun ride. I really hope it sticks the landing because I could see myself looking forward to spending more time with this little ragtag crew post-season 1.

I think some things I was really liking about the Acolyte was the Star Wars Prequel feel how it all started I think the only thing I was disappointed in I thought it was gonna be 100 years before TPM not 100 years before The Empire. And I really wanted to see where they were going with Osha and Quimir not just as master and apprentice but also a shipper love story and Palpatine's Master! It's a shame we will never see that again.

Skeleton Crew is just fun. I get that feeling like when I was a kid seeing Star Wars for the first time. I am over 50 and still want to sit in that gun turret blasting away at pursuing fighters.

Acolyte was just a bad overall story that portrayed the Jedi and scumbags covering up their foul up and unwilling to accept responsibility for what happened. There were some really good performances but that was not enough to make up for bad writing and bad acting from the rest of the cast. This should not have been the story of Osha and Mae...Acolyte should have been about Plagueis from his recruitment to killing his master and recruiting Sheev.
