With the advent of the new split in the fanfic boards, I'd like to extend everyone a hearty welcome to the new snippet thread.

This is a place for you to advertise your new and existing stories. I?d ask that if you want to advertise more then two fics that you space them apart. Please don?t post several ads at once. Along with this, I?d also ask that you please keep it to one story per post (as to not confuse people). Cover-art is allowed (if you have some ? it?s hardly a requirement) but please keep your synopsis to a maximum of 300 words. Below is the basic format for your story.

Malcolm walked into the cockpit of the cruiser to find Lara already there, watching the forest as it was slowly illuminated by the sun as it rose above the mists behind them.

"You're up early."

Lara jumped, then turned to see Malcolm. "You scared me."

Malcolm sat down in the captain's chair, tearing open a packaged pastry. "Well, I certainly didn't mean to do that."

"Sorry I'm a little jumpy this morning," she said as she stared out the front window. "I remembered some more last night."

"Really?"

"Really," she said, staring straight ahead.

A moment passed in uncomfortable silence while Malcolm waited for Lara to say something else, but she never did. Swallowing a chunk of pastry, he leaned forward. "Are you going to tell me about it?"

Lara sighed. "I told you I was an Imperial officer as soon as I was eighteen, right?"

"Right..."

"And I told you that I guessed my first assignment would have come around the time of the Battle of Endor?"

"Yeah..."

She kept staring out the window. "Malcolm, what happened on Coruscant the day of the Battle of Endor?"

Malcolm swallowed another bite. "Uh, there were riots. A big rebel party, I guess. The statue of Palpatine was knocked over."

Lara sniffed. "I was there, Malcolm." It looked like she was getting tears in her eyes. "And there's a reason people hated the Empire." She paused for a minute. "You may be proud to be an Imperial now, but I hate knowing I was one then."

"What happened, Lara?"

"My team was working 'crowd control.' They wouldn't tell me what was going on. The palace was evacuating; we were supposed to keep personnel safe on their way." Lara turned away from the window, keeping her head down. "We didn't even have weapons with stun capability." She sniffed back what must have been

Knight Horn, ignoring his wounds, raised himself off the floor and made his way back to the ramp. I managed to follow, determined to help in some way. I barely noticed Knight Bornik race past me and into the cockpit. Mere moments later, I felt the ship begin to ascend into the air.

When I made it to the ramp, I found Master Skywalker holding onto the ramp with one hand, while using the other to wield his lightsaber in deflecting the blaster bolts that the vehicles were shooting at us with.

Knight Horn was shouting for him to grab his hand, but Master Skywalker ignored him, resolute in his determination to keep us from harm. This continued for several minutes, until we finally seemed to be away from the danger. Master Skywalker tossed his lightsaber into the ship and moved to grab Knight Horn?s hand.

It was then that all hell broke loose. We had failed to notice the Za?zens?za ship had risen up into the sky. We saw this too late, for they opened fire on us. The impact threw Knight Horn and I to the deck.

To our absolute horror, we watched as Master Skywalker lost his grip on the ramp. Helpless, we watched him fall several hundred feet, towards one of the few remaining vehicles that was chasing us. We thought we saw him hit the vehicle? right before the cursed thing exploded.

Trailer : They came years ago with no warning. Planet by planet the galaxy fell under their power. They carved a path of destruction into the core of the galaxy, to the precious jewel of the Republic, Coruscant. Countless lives were lost as the planet fell into their hands and became something new? something different. The Yuuzhan Vong changed the galaxy shaping it into something new, changing the perceptions of everyone. As awe-inspiring an accomplishment this maybe there is something else they were responsible for shaping. Something greater in the grand scheme of things. The rogue Jedi Vergere used the Yuuzhan Vong to accomplish a goal of a much grander scale. The invaders were used to shape the young Jedi Jacen Solo into something new, something truly different and in turn they were altering the galaxy on a completely different scale.

Years passed and many more lives were lost before the war between the Yuuzhan Vong and the galaxy ended. The planet Coruscant, shaped into the new world of Yuuzhan?tar, fell but this time to the hands of the people who had first abandoned it. The capital of the galaxy was battered and broken, and then forgotten with the prospect of peace on the horizon. The Jedi Knights, under the joint leadership of Luke Skywalker and Jacen Solo, helped to spread this fledgling peace throughout the galaxy as people came together to rebuild their shattered lives. But during this time of peace something has continued to grow on the shattered world of Yuuzhan?tar, something that can only be found by one man. Jacen Solo, the man who was responsible for the shaping of the planet has returned to the only place he can call home.

I PITY DA FOOL, SUCKA!


This story is about the adventures of the famous Mr. T and his encounters with the Expanded Universe.

This is meant to be all in good humor as Mr. T "pities" the EU and commits himself to throwing stuff "helluva far" as he tries to rescue his kids in the Youth Centers who have been taken hostage by Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The characters and much of the story background follow in the footsteps of Darth Holliday's infamous (and funny) "Exploited Universe" stories. If you're familiar with his stories then you will recognize many of the characters in Attack of the Phantom Mohawk immediately. You can check out Darth Holliday's stories on the boards here if you'd like.

I hope you enjoy the story and have a good laugh...this isn't an attack on the EU (as I AM a fan of it), it's just Mr. T going crazy in the Star Wars universe, hopefully entertaining you in the process.

Scene - Fade into a vast sea of stars.
A tattered Noobian royal cruiser speeds in and out of frame.

Music - Up Star Wars theme song.

Scene - Luke and Leia sitting huddled under a blanket by a fire, looking into each others eyes.

Luke: "I will become a Jedi knight like my father... somehow..."

A large brown ball of fur with patches and stripes of green covering its body shoots out from the brush. It stands a meter tall, supported by four short furry legs with two cloven digits on each foot.

Luke gets up and turns on his saber.

Scene - Han, Chewbacca, and Lando in a speeder racing across the Tatooine desert.

Lando: "Luke Skywalker?"

Han: "You've heard of him?"

Lando: "The Empire just put a price on his head so large every bounty hunter in the galaxy is looking for him. You'd think he was the last Jedi, the price they're paying."

Scene - Vader standing before the emperor?s throne, in front of a large round window overlooking a Coruscant sunset. Palpatine approaches him in perfect posture, dressed in purple senate robes.

Vader: "He is strong in the force, like his father was."

Palpatine: "He must be destroyed."

Vader: "It will be done."

Scene - a tropical island. A tall mountain looms over the white sand, pouring down water from above into a river that divides the beach. The Millennium Falcon shoots out from behind the waterfall and flies off frame.

Scene - Jabba's Palace.
Han, Lando, and Chewbacca stand before Jabba.

Han: "Forget it Jabba. We're joining the rebellion..."

Chewbacca grunts in agreement.

Scene - Luke and Vader dueling in a broken down library in the Jedi Temple, overlooking a Coruscant night sky.
They clash sabers a few times in a quick montage, then pause with their blades held together in front of a close-up of Luke.

Scene - a grand space battle over Coruscant. The Millennium Falcon speeds over a star destroyer, raking it with fire before disappearing in the giant ship's wake.

Scene - Palpatine's throne room - night. Lando Calrissian trains a gun on the emperor. A massive hairy beast with extra long arms and a swaying, hairy, trumpet-shaped snout stands behind Lando, training a large gun at the emperor, well-over Lando's head.

Palpatine cackles.

Scene - the Jedi library, where Luke lays face down on the floor.
Vader clenches his fist.

Vader: "You are defeated."

Luke looks up weakly at him.
Princess Leia walks into frame and picks up Luke's lightsaber from beside his hand. She looks coldly at Vader and turns on the saber.

Leia: "It's not over yet, Vader."

Fade out to black.

Obi-Wan awoke, the still darkness surrounding him. For a second he couldn't remember where he was, or why there was a woman in his arms. Then it all came back to him; he was with Amé, beautiful Amé. He gently stroked her silky, dark brown tresses, reflecting on her intoxicating beauty. Waves of hair encircled her head, and her long dark lashes concealed deep brown eyes. Her full, red lip parted gently with each breath, her slender body, covered in seemingly flawless skin, was soft against his, and he loved her all the more.

Tiari watched as her mother gently wiped specks of dust from the glass picture frames. They were old frames, ones made of either wood or metal with complex designs wrought in them. In the middle was a picture, covered by a sheet of glass. Her mother had collected them for as long as Tiari could remember. She kept all of her special pictures in the frames, though she also kept a holographic copy of each as a back up. Each frame was different and every picture showed the same people at their various ages, Tiari, Mother, Grandfather and Grandmother, and Father. Each picture was the same, except one. Hidden in the back, closest to Mother's bed, was a picture of another man, a younger looking man. Tiari had never asked Mother about the man; there had never been a need to.

Tiari watched as Mother tenderly cleaned a picture of Father. Tiari had been fourteen when Father's ship had crashed, taking his life with it. Although she missed him, they had never been very close. Tiari didn't want to seem like an unloving child, but her father's death hadn't been as catastrophic to her as a similar even was to other children. No, Tiari had always been closer to her mother than to her father, and she had always had her tutor, Linu.

Her mother picked up another picture, the one of the other man, and started to rub the dust off the glass. Tiari watched, her curiosity soon kicking in. Gathering her courage, she touched her mother's shoulder, turning her around.

"Who is that Mother?" Tiari asked, pointing to the picture.

What if everything began to happen to take it all away?

"Why would he hate her so much?" Jowen demanded, clearly frustrated. "Our
marriage, and life together, is perfectly legal. Their marriage was declared void upon
him leaving her. It is illegal to abandon your family on Naboo, sir."

What if you decided, enough was enough?

"I'm here concerning your last message, Milady," Obi-Wan said. "You stated that
you're returning to Coruscant. I think you should seriously reconsider that idea.
There still is a danger you know."

"I'm most aware of that, thank you," Padme snapped sharply. "But I'm long tired of
hiding. I've hid here for nearly sixteen years. My own home is my prison. It will be no
longer."

What if the secrets of the past could no longer be kept secret?


"What is it?"

"At the request of the Organa's, Padme," Obi-Wan began gentally.
"I performed a Jedi mind trick on her, before I left with you to Naboo. She will remember nothing about you.
They felt it was necessary with Vader and Palpatine lurking about in the Alderaani Court so much. It would
have been only time until Vader discovered who she really was. Then-"

"How dare you!" Padme cried, slapping his face.

What if you could no longer stand to just let things happen?

I will be going with Eowen to Coruscant," Padme barked. "There is no debate. Is
that clear?"

What if you could no longer run, hide, or ignore?

"It is good to see you again, Amidala"

"Eowen, run." Padme screamed.

What if the past was present? There would be no more running.

"It has been a long time, old friend."

"You'll not be the death of me, yet."

Jash watched closely as the commander seemed to weigh his thoughts. His pale blue eyes gazed steadily into the ebony armor that shrouded Vader?s face. There was really no way to describe the absurdity of the scene. Kedla on one side, average in height and frame with his icy eyes and boyishly wavy black hair, his uniform crisp. He was the model of stunningly good looks and cool charm. Opposite was Vader, like a raven god standing high above everyone else. His entire being dripped with power ? not merely political and military influence, but physical strength as well. Even against the dark backdrop of space, which could hold no light to begin with, Vader was as black as the very essence of night.

The two men ? if Vader could indeed be classified with normal men ? were as different as day and night. Jash didn?t claim to know much about Darth Vader?s personal history, but he imagined that the Dark Lord had at one time lived a life free of his monstrous armor. Still, he doubted that Vader had ever been anything like Commander Kedla.

Obi-Wan set the squirming infant down on the counter and began the process of undressing him with Luke giggling and cooing all the while. He took a piece of cloth like towel and ran it under a bit of warm water and proceeded to wash the boy?s body. The instant the warm cloth touch his bottom, Luke let out another happy cry. Within an instant, Obi-Wan realized that there were worse things than a bit of food being splattered all over his robes.

?Lord Skywalker,? a young Imperial soldier said from behind Luke?s shoulder and he turned towards him.

?Yes??

?A group of rebels have been apprehended.?

?Does Lord Vader know about this??

?Uh, not yet, my Lord,? he stuttered.

?Very well. Bring the rebels to the detention center. I?ll see to them after Lord Vader is informed.?

?Yes, my Lord. One of the rebels was armed with this.?

Luke looked down at the weapon in the soldier?s hand. A lightsaber. The weapon of the accursed Jedi Knights.

He nodded and took it before turning around and leaving.

Darth Vader looked up as he felt the presence of his son approaching. He felt Luke?s thoughts on the rebels, his unease of them. The door opened and he watched the cold gaze of his son on him.

?A group of rebels have been captured.?

?I know.? Vader nodded and saw the rock cold look on his son?s face.

?One of the rebels was carrying this.? Luke offered the lightsaber to his father.

Vader?s menacing mask tilted downwards towards the weapon. ?A Jedi? It?s not possible. A new Jedi could not have been trained. All of them are dead.?

?Could you have missed one??

?There is no one to train them.?

?Yes, but I felt her presence. She is here, and trained.?

?It?s not possible.?

?You doubt my abilities?? Luke
questioned, his cold gaze questioning.

?You are not trained.?

Luke gaze a curt nod but them removed the lightsaber from his belt. ?Shall we decide whether I am or not right now??

?You think you can defeat me??

?You know I?m powerful.?

?Yes, but you are only a learner.?

?Do you truly believe that? Do you believe I couldn?t harm you??

?You do not have the training to harm me.?

?Then why are you afraid??

Vader had nothing to respond to his son as a sly smile crossed his son?s face. ?If you fear my abilities than trust them. Do not try to tell me you don?t fear them. I can feel your fear.?

Luke hooked the lightsaber to his belt again. ?When you wish for the contest I shall be in my quarters after I interrogate the prisoners.? Luke bowed his head and with a curt, military turn, left the room.

Notes: The first of a Star Wars saga set in two separate galaxies, the original Star Wars galaxy, and the Ta Hayana galaxy where the Republic has begun colonization.

Backstory:
When the Sith were made nearly extinct, one went into hiding, instituting a Rule of Two to hide themselves until they could avenge themselves to the Jedi. But there was another survivor, Darth Agony. Rather than hiding from the Jedi, he chose to exile himself to a distant galaxy, flying alone in his long distance transport vessel to the nearest galaxy, the distant and vast spiral Ta Hayana galaxy.

870 years after the Sith were thought defeated for good, after the Force was brought to balance by the Jedi Skywalkers, the Republic began to reach into this galaxy, and the Jedi Order began to follow.

Two detachments of the Jedi were sent, both were lost without a trace.

At the start of A Creeping Doom, the third detachment's only survivor, Kiri Ogan flees to Coruscant to bring disturbing news to the Council.

Notes: I haven?t read NJO so Luke and the others will have limited roles until a certain point. At this moment, I have started to push them toward that point.

Trailer : Tahiri got tried of this kid?s insults at her life. She pushed her way to the front. His eyes widened at the sight of her, but she ignored that and said, ?You don?t know what you?re talking about. The Jedi have saved the lives of many people over the years and we will save people this time and win this war. It?s only a matter of time.?

She thought that would have shut him up, but it did not. The kid had narrowed his eyes in disbelief. ?Really? I don?t see you winning. When are you going to make a move? Oh, that?s right, Jedi don?t fight back. They let themselves be stepped on!? he said mockingly.

Tahiri felt a hand on her shoulder. She was probably disobeying what Master Luke taught her about the Jedi, but she felt that she had to defend the life she chose to live. ?The Jedi do fight when the lives of others are in danger.? She choked on the next part. ?Many have died to save the lives of others.?

But like before, her words did nothing to convince this kid. ?Really? If the Jedi were so powerful, then how come they can?t save their own lives?? he snarled. ?I bet you?re not as powerful as you make yourselves out to be. If the Jedi were powerful, then why didn?t that Anakin Solo live?? he questioned.

Tahiri felt her heart tighten. She felt great sadness and started to get angry. From behind she felt his words opening up the old wounds Anakin?s death had imposed on his family.

?If he was as powerful as he was supposed to be, why didn?t he live? He didn?t have any power. He was worthless. His death just shows what little power you Jedi have,? said the kid. He pushed his way through the two families, leaving them there shocked and in complete agony.

Boots sounded on durasteel flooring. Lieutenant Denalt opened the door.

Inside, the standard issue assortment of pilots played games, watched holovids, slept, and cheated egregiously at sabacc. No discernable change in their activities occurred as Tellan and Lieutenant Denalt entered. However after a few moments, their continued silent, uncomfortable presence drew the eyes of their fellows with undeniable magnetic appeal.

One of the sabacc players - a thin, squarely framed young man ? waved his hand at them in consideration; the other players, a female Bothan and a very pale man, snuck glances at his cards as he did so.

?Interesting meeting you here. Hope you?re Sabres. We don?t tolerate any other cards around here.?

A dark haired girl, mostly obscured by the couch she had sprawled on to channel surf the holovid, spoke up in a Core accented voice, ?That?s right, that is. It?s our lounge. We made a flag and everything.?

The new Lieutenants raised their eyes to the wall. On it hung an enthusiastically painted banner, decorated with a badly outlined sword and blue stripes that trailed enthusiasm onto the military gray wall.

?It?s very nice.? Tellan complimented. ?That?s a . . . saber??

The gazes fixed on them hardened. In her evident startlement, Lieutenant Denalt accidentally stepped on his foot. Hard.

?It?s a lightsaber,? replied the channel surfer.

?Haven?t met the Commander yet, have you?? A new voice chimed in.

He pushed himself up on unsteady legs, supporting himself against the cold bulkhead. His heart hammered against his ribs and his breath came in shallow gasps, but his hands were curled into white-knuckled fists. Somehow he was going to fight back, even if it meant spending his last moments in silent defiance.

Darth Rage raised his saber. Ben lifted his head, letting the red light of the saber flood over his features, and locked his gaze with those inhuman, soulless eyes.

And then something utterly foreign flickered across the Sith's face.

In the small circle of men stood Obi-Wan Kenobi. His cloak hung ragged and limp, scorched and burned against his weary form. Muscles straining as he raised the pale blue fire to defend against the continuing onslaught.

His eyes.

Anakin had seen that look in dying men?s eyes before.

Startled out of the nightmare, Anakin abruptly sat up. Realizing that he was in his room in the apartment he and his master shared safe in the temple, the chill of the nightmare began to lift. His breathing slowed and he consciously took several long, slow breaths. Fingers drifted to the roll of muscle at his left shoulder and he massaged the slight ache that radiated out.

His shoulder always hurt after the nightmare.

For a few moments, he sat there silently, listening to the dearth of sounds in the apartment. Good, he thought, he had not awakened his master. Every mention of his nightmares always brought worry out in the older Jedi.

A few moments more and he had regained control of his raging emotions. Stilling his mind, he sat there quietly in a light meditative state. He never tried to seek answers for the nightmare. He knew the cause and knew there was no reason to analyze it.

There was nothing he could do to change the past.

[Camera zooms slowly in on sleeping Leia. Suddenly she sits bolt upright, her eyes wide.]

[Leia] Who are you?

[Han] Han Solo, at your service. [clamps his hand over her mouth and drags her out of bed]

[fade to black]

[fades back in on Bail and Saché Organa. Saché has tears in her eyes and is white-faced. Rabé rushes in and hugs her]

[Saché] We let Padmé down. For the first time ever, we failed her, Rabé. The Empire is sure to find them before we do.

[fade up on Vader. close-up of his face]

[Vader] I will not fail my Master. Not this time.

[fade up on the twins in a cell on Kessel, full of elderly and ill prisoners. Camera zooms in on Obi-Wan Kenobi, with Padmé asleep on his lap]

[Luke] I'm Luke, and this is my twin sister, Leia. What is your name, sir?

[Obi-Wan] My name is . . . Ben. Ben Kenobi.

[fade up on Vader storming into the cell and lifting the twins in his arms]

Master Caltina looked shocked. ?Arden, history has taught us the evil of the Dark Side. Surely you learned in your history classes-?

?Of course there are people who would use the Force for evil,? Arden cut in. ?But does that mean there?s a Dark Side? Perhaps there?s just the Force, with no opposite and balancing sides, and each person uses it according to how they see fit.?

Master Caltina remained silent for a minute, scrutinizing Arden. Arden, caught in the passion of the moment?s argument, had a second to recollect herself. A shiver of horror ran through her. She couldn?t be found out as a dissenter, not this close to the trials. She just wanted to be knighted, and then she and Torrie could escape with their friends.

?There are two distinct sides of the Force,? Master Caltina finally said. ?I know, Arden, for I have brushed them both. In time, I fear that you shall know too.?

A wrinkled face loomed in front of her. The yellow eyes seemed to send sparks, and the dry lips curled in a sneering smile.

?If she will not join us, she will die. We cannot have silent dissenters in our ranks.?

The wrinkled face dissolved into Tremayne?s. His lips were set in a cold smile. He raised a silver lightsaber ? Arden recognized it as her own blade ? and brought it down in a flash of blinding light.

at Ben. Touching the Force deeply, Ben lifted his hand up to intercept the lighting.

An alien race abandoned by the Force will find their savior.

Dorsca Cherrz stood before Representative Zorel.

"Cherrz, how surprising to see you," Zorel stuttered

"Do you think I would run and hide while you corrupt our people?"

Balance hangs by a thread.
