Brag and talk about your excitement for concerts that you will/are attending!! I made this thread once before and can't find it!! Yay!!! I'm going to see Bodom/Townsend/Septic Flesh/Obscura this week with my stompy boots on!!1111
Yesterday I was at the opening of a concert hall. It had some of Sweden's best operasingers and they sang some of my favourite pieces. I was more or less stunned for three hours.
Coming up: Carbon Leaf, July 29th Flogging Molly, August 5th Milwaukee Irish Fest!, August 20th, which will include The Gleasons, The Screaming Orphans, Reilly, The Red Hot Chili Pipers, Scythian, Gaelic Storm, The Young Dubliners, and Finbar McCarthy. Riot Fest in Chicago in October to see The Descendents and Social Distortion. Sweet.
An IrishFest with no Dropkick Murphys? Flogging Molly rules though, and I've seen Social Distortion recently, as well. \m/
Bob Dylan twice next weekend (12th and 13th time). Saturday in OK and Sunday in TX (4 hours from Dallas). There is no describing how tired I will be on Monday. That's why I'll be... working from home that day! Translation- I'll be watching TV and napping while they pay me.
During Summerfest recently I saw 7-10-11 AWOLNATION/Todd Rundgren/311 7-8-11 Middle Class Rut/ Morris Day and the Time/Goo Goo Dolls 7-6-11 Black Keys/Florence+theMachine/CagetheElephant 7-1-11 Anberlin/Styx 6-29-11 Matishayu Like Mort, I'm going to see Carbon Leaf. Going to do Irishfest, though the only group planned so far is The Gleasons. Juli, Dropkick Murphys were at Summerfest and why no Irishfest.
No, this really cool looking venue in New Braunfels that's right on the shore of a river. Irving to NB and back. That is going to be a beating.
I'm taking my sister out for dinner before she goes to see the backside boys and new kids. Does this count?
Steely Dan & Steve Winwood in November. Would like to see Roger Waters' The Wall show in Feb, but haven't got tickets yet, 4th show goes on sale on the 25th. My wife wants to see the Foo Fighters w/ Tenacious D in December. I can take or leave it, but if we have funds, might be a fun show.
I don't think I know anyone that is cool enough to go see The Wall with me unfortunately. I would like to see that show.
I was there but only saw Yonder Mountain String Band per my man's request. Hipster Raver Mila Kunis almost burned me with her cigarette as she flashed a laser pointer at the stage will dancing. Oh the joys of watching people on E.
Ohhh! I'm going to see Motion City Soundtrack on September 20 & 21, I believe. They're doing a tour of 7 cities in the US where they're playing for two nights, back to back, 2 complete albums each night. I'm going to pee with excitement! And, if things fall into place I'll be needing to go back to NYC here soon & The Movielife is playing a final show there at the end of August that I want to try to make.
So I stayed for the first 3 bands of the concert (skipped out on Bodom), and I honestly have to say that Townsend put on one of the best performances I've yet to see live (ohgr would have to beat him). I don't really like DT's music that much, but holy crap is he insane. Also what I thought was really odd was that the crowd was more pumped for his performance than Bodom's. Not often that an "opening" band gets more attention than the main one of the show.
No plans at the moment for future concerts but I did see Rammstein a couple of months ago and they were amazing.
Just saw Dylan at the Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK. Imagine a cheesy Casino dropped in the middle of farm land and you don't need a postcard. I was expecting a staid casino crowd and the same (as a result) on the performance. No such thing. Crowd was great and so was the show. Dylan was very dialed in; a pleasant surprise. Tomorrow is far more daunting with a 4 hour drive each way to see him in New Braunfels. Oh yeah, there was a SW casino game that detained me on the way out.
http://zelda-symphony.com/ I wish I lived in LA or London! I hope this tours in more cities. I would definitely travel to Philadelphia (or Pittsburgh) to see this! The teaser video is only 27 seconds, but the audio lasts for 4 mins 25 secs. Love the audio on the page? Me too! Download the mp3 here.
