Full Series The Bad Batch 3.03 - Shadows of Tantiss - Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

Looks like a long way out or back into the confinement. I didn't expect the Citadel to compete with this!

 

This is where the fun begins.

 

I mean, an entire episode dedicated to Tantiss's ability to be used for sundials was probably a bit much, could have been done as a short film instead.

 

Tantiss being the Tantive IV’s father was a strange twist.

 

Project Necromancer, nuff said!

 

Love the darker tone of this. While the content set post ROTJ and the sequels do a job of showing the difficulties in moving from empire to new republic, this is doing a great job of showing how evil the empire really is.

That’s pretty much confirmed that Omega is force sensitive right ?

I can’t remember the exact wording but I’m also intrigued by the comment that the M count needed to match the current specimens count. Is that Grogu or is this some other force sensitive body that has been recovered from the clone wars ??

Great use of some of the score from Andor too throughout the opening 3 episodes

Really strong start to the series and I’m excited to see where the road takes us

 

Omega is force sensitive. And M-count was mentioned about Grogu in Mandalorian. We got our first hint of Palpatine clones.

 

Yes. However, whilst it's tempting to think we'll see Omega lifting rocks by season's end, I reckon it's equally likely that it's merely something in her genetic template which ends up being the key to Project Necromancer. After all, if the Kaminoans have successfully created a Clone Jedi in Omega, and have her blood on file now, why bother chasing after Grogu's blood decades later? Surely it's not that simple.

Knowing how subtle previous seasons have been about certain plot points, methinks it could go either way.

My favourite detail was Nala Se's scanner using the same graphic as when Obi-Wan ran Anakin's midi-chlorian count in The Phantom Menace.

 

Hell ****ing ya. I love where this season is going

 

I really like everything related to mysterious cloning experiments, midichlorian-counts, Caminoans, Palpatine and Project Necromancer. This was a fest for me!

 

I think it was a feast for everyone

One of THE best episodes of the entire show. Cannot wait to next week. That was fantastic from start to finish.

 

A true Dark Times era now

 

I'm gonna say it again, these three eps have done an Andor for the empire, it is absolutely frightening when portrayed like this. Standing ovation.

Very good episode: action and plot progression.

Always love hearing Ian McDiarmid's voice, and it's good to see the Royal Guards.

With his shaky hand, I was going to say: Poor Crosshair; goes from uber-sniper to prototype Stormtrooper... but... he's still as cold-blooded lethal as ever.

This one narrowly edges out Episode 1 for the top spot (and I may reconsider later), but for now:

Was it hinting to exegol with the thunder sounds in the background? Sounded the same to me.

 

I just love the exploration of Palpatine’s cloning experiments. I would bet the Batch free the clones on Tantiss and we get that clone rebellion that destroys the facility by the end of the series. Then they move it to Exegol in the Unknown Regions.

 

Not sure how I feel about Omega being force sensitive. Oddly I feel like it makes her less unique. I felt her being a female clone in general made her unique.

 

It’s not 100% confirmed that she is force sensitive. It just makes logical sense with what is presented in the episode. Her blood is the only blood they have tested which has accepted transfusion. I have a feeling that the midichlorians would only accept transfusion if the blood is already more midichlorian rich than average
