A loose end from LOTF that hasn't been tied up or picked up yet, what happened to Jacen's body?

Was it incinerated on the Anakin Solo, was it buried, was it burned somewhere else, what?

Presumably Luke had it stuffed and mounted along with all the other petty galactic warlords he's caused the demise of. :p

One of the great loose ends of LOTF. There's nothing in the canon on it, but I'd think a private Jedi ceremony and cremation, similar to what happened with Anakin's body, would be the most likely answer.

Luke ate him, absorbing his soul and gaining his power.

Think it'd be better for the body to go down with the Anakin Solo anding then the SkySolos had a small ceremony of just them at some point. Or they haven't yet because everything for the past few years has prevented them from properly memorializing Jacen.

I was just thinking about this. For a major character, he kind of just got dumped by the wayside. At death, Han and Leia left Jacen laying there on the deck and went to speak to the Moffs while Jag took Jaina away if I recall correctly. I'd have to think that unless they were the most callous people in the world, his family would at least have him buried somewhere, assuming they didn't consider him a Jedi and didn't wish to have a ceremony among the Jedi. What happened to the Anakin Solo? I don't recall it going down... If they did blow it up in the aftermath, perhaps they blew him up with it, but man that would just chalk another one up to family ruthlessness. As written, Leia and Han came across like a couple of gawkers approaching a roadkill, trying not to look at their dead son on Jaina's lap but morbidly unable to keep their eyes away. That doesn't bid well for any funeral, but one can hope...

Yeah, we have no idea if they buried him somewhere, if any charges were ever brought against him, if they just burned his body, threw it out an airlock, or anything else. Just another way LotF failed to tell anything close to a complete (or decent) story. I think the Jedi had the body though, right? Jaina killed him, then she was nearly fainting from all the damage she took, and by that point the Jedi had pretty much taken over the ship and captured all the Moffs, right? So its not like they had to leave his body behind, like they almost did with Anakin, right?

I'd guess they just burnt it, since that's the way they honor Jedi... even if Jacen had fallen so far, but not sure if they could really bury it anywhere. Han and Leia mostly live on the Falcon these days, and burying him in the Jedi Temple would seem... inappropriate, to say the least.

I'm pretty sure the book Millennium Falcon didn't offer any insight either, right? It mostly just skipped over tying up any loose ends from LotF, and then tried to lay some plotlines for FotJ... which Outcast mostly ignored too (for instance, compared MF's ending to how Outcast started and... yeah, one reason I hated that book and still don't have much faith in the novels).

Let's see, Anakin was burned, but they were in the middle of a major war then too, so not much time for much else. Mara was given what was essentially a state funeral, then her body vanished, but... I really don't see Jacen as being anywhere near enlightened enough to do that "vanish into the Force" trick. I'm still not sure how Mara did that, since most other Jedi Master bodies don't fade away like that. And based on Abyss, he certainly was still evil there too. Not sure how Mara in Abyss fits with her "help" to Ben's "investigation" (if you could call it that since it never really yielded much proof until Caedus officially announced that he had killed Mara).

Although I am glad that Jacen's body didn't vanish. It was bad enough there was that ambiguity about what he was feeling when he died (not sure Jaina can give an accurate description, considering her own emotions), but if he had vanished... well, that would've really seemed like it was justifying his reign (though FotJ seems to be working on retconning it anyway).

It might've been cool if his body had exploded in the traditional Sith darkside energy explosion, but he couldn't even do that properly as a Sith. Then again, only really powerful Sith/darksiders tended to explode, so Jacen probably just hadn't reached that level yet.

Interesting theories all - here's my thoughts....

The authors of of LotF PURPOSELY left this as a loose end, so they could discuss it later on. Similar to all the other loose ends from Invincible. Considering the fact that we're spending so much time in FotJ talking about Jacen, his body could likely play a role...

Consider Death Troopers coming out soon... Maybe the main purpose for this book is to discuss a new virus/chemical to awaken dead cells.

That's right ladies and gentleman, Jacen's body will rise once more as the first ever Zombie Sith Lord - with an insatiable hunger for Power and Brains!!

The authors have been searching for ways to modify the enemies in their stories...foreign alien invaders from another galaxy, deformed bug-like Dark Jedi...now they've hit the jackpot.

Not to mention - all the needles that got stuck in Jacen during his fight with Jaina - perhaps they were added in the story so the authors could have a way of saying there were chemicals injected into him right before he died as a way to keep his cells functional....

Am I crazy?? Or is this what we should come to expect from our authors?

Zombie Sith Lord [face_laugh]...that would be the height of morbid. It is bad enough we have to deal with major character death, but further desecration sucks. CPS Anakin Solo and The Anakin Solo flying tribute of doom were quite enough...

An actor posing as him will show up a few books later, and no one will even bother to look for it. [face_mischief]

Let's not forget the guy that looks like Anakin, that keeps popping up in the books - I still have hope that Tahiri and him will hook up.

Back to Jacen's body though...maybe somehow acolytes of Abeloth acquired his body shortly after the events in Invincible, and have somehow been using it to boost Jacen's unique force powers to previous Jedi inhabitants of the Maw, you know, along with making them crazy.

Though if that's the case they still need to make him a Zombie, if only because they can... :)

Ah yes, good old Dab - they may well, but why would Tahiri want a look alike replacement? 8-} I have never understood why he was made a part of the EU at all.

That is a possibility. That is something Luke could have asked spirit head Jacen about at the reflection pool, but I guess Luke figured there was no point wasting time asking questions about his main reason for being there...

However, considering what you propose is the case, how in the heck would they have gotten a hold of Jacen's body? Even if the family and Jedi shamefully took off without it, you'd think the clean up crew would remove the body with the others and I doubt they chucked them all out into space, that would just be too crazy - all those people flying around decomposing in space - or worse, not decomposing.
    .

Yeah, reanimation would still be necessary, but I would think a clone would be more effective - Zombies are so irritating.

Heck, I am still wondering what became of the Anakin Solo. I doubt they simply left her in service or renamed her. I want a short story that details Jacen's funeral and the scrapping of the Anakin Solo.

Probably either using the stock Star Destroyer paint, or a lot of robots with paint scrapers...

Fed to the Wampa's in the cargo hold.
Heard they rejected it, cuz there was not enough meat on the bones.

So it was dumped with the trash right before the next jump.
The clone of Boba's clone then retrieved it and encased the dumb Sith in carbonite.

He's just become another Zahn Character to be killed off for the sake of a story.

I feel that if LOTF accomplished anything, it did manage to kill off almost all of the most popular SW novels prime characters. Next up for literature execution is either Jaina Solo or Talon Karrde

I'm wondering what became of the Anakin Solo. Was it renamed/repainted? Impounded? Turbolasered into scrap? Being saved to one day become Allana's private vacation yacht?

And yet, amazingly, despite his age, we have no official confirmation that Garm Bel Iblis is dead yet. He's doing quite good seeing as Jorj Car'das's death has been referenced.

The Moff Council command ship at the end of Invincible is a black Imperial-class Star Destroyer; the Moff Council command ship at the start of Outcast is a black Imperial-class Star Destroyer...

    Simples. :p
