Edit: Nevermind, okay, I was just wondering why a Star Wars related thread was in a community forum.

 

I would find this chart significantly more ingestible if the monetary values were listed in Kroners. Any help that you can provide is appreciated.

So, we've been kicked off another forum (it was previously in the AOTC forum) and ended up here. We'll need to let the people on the predictions list know where we are.

Oh, I understand the reasoning now. And I didn't notice the other movies besides Attack of the Clones on the list at first. My bad on that.

Yep, he did. But there's a difference between the two threads... one was a weekly box office speculation, whereas this one only covers a few movies.

 

DamonD, are you going to PM other members? I can PM some, I guess...

 

Originally, the thread was mainly to follow AOTC at the box office, even now it still makes money from the IMAX versions.

That's the main focus, but we also take a look at other films if it looks like they will make a lot of money. TTT was an easy one, Shanghai Knights looked like it could do something big but that's unlikely now. Daredevil is the next probably one we'll be taking predictions in for.

So, this now is mainly for discussion about the box office takes for the 5 SW films, in the US and internationally, in comparison with other films if needed, while also tracking AOTC:TIE and any sufficiently large blockbusters.

I think that covers it...

 

BlueMules, I've asked a Mod on the SW Community (previously the Misc) forum to include a link here on the previous thread.

Hopefully, she'll be able to just temporarily unlock it and add the link on, then lock it again. Anyone going there should get the URL for here.

My prediction for Daredevil:

45 million.

Daredevil total I say about 80 Million, although I hope its higher

Official weekend figures should be out within the next couple of hours, so we'll know then.

The final numbers are excellent news for TTT. It actually came very close to beating FOTR on its same weekend (and beat it on friday). It is also the third weekend in a row where TTT has had lower drop-offs than FOTR had.

Edit: Oh, I guess if you do the recalculation I didn't win for AotC. It was only on 2 theaters and it still made that much money!

Daredevil - $28 million

 

That AotC had such a small drop when it lost 75% of its theaters leads me to wonder how much (or little) money those other six theaters were pulling in.
