The C3PO and R2D2 problem.

As the films finally come to a close, I have often wondered about a few things that dont add up with R2D2 and C3PO, when linking the newier stories up to the older ones.

1.Why doesnt C3PO or R2D2 remember Anakin or the name Skywalker.

2.Why does C3PO not remember tatoonie. Surely he would remember being on that planet. He was made there, and lived there for many years.

3.Why doesnt Owen Lars remember CP3O and vise versa. 3PO even tells Owen his name in A NEW HOPE.

4.Why does C3PO and R2D2 not remember the farm on Tatoonie. Or the fact that Lukes grandmother is buried there.

5.Why doesnt C3PO and R2D2 not remember Yoda and vise versa. If Yoda was truly all knowing, he would of remembered R2 on dagooba.

These are just a few of the flaws I have found in the overall story of STAR WARS. Hopefully some of this will be cleared up in REVENGE OF THE SITH. If not, then its a serious blunder on Luca's part.

As far as R2D2's memory, you can't really ever know for sure what he remembers. I mean, if he recognized Yoda, how would he have let us know?

R2 knows a lot more than he appears to

As for 3PO the last few spoken lines in ROTS will explain it all

 

Strilo edit: Spoilers are not allowed here. There are tons of proticol droids that look exactly like 3PO inthe galaxy (see TESB, ROTJ, and TPM). Maybe Ben never really cared much for 3PO which is hwy he doesn't remember his name.

In the OT, I like the thought of Obi Wan, R2, and Chewbacca knowing more than what they reveal.

 

R2D2 was standing right next to yoda at the end of TPM.R2 is also with Yoda at the start of AOTC.
Yoda's name was also metioned around R2 numerous times.
R2 must of known who and what Yoda was.
