There's going to be a few more story arcs but that's it. No more TCW. It feels like Disney is cutting off any links they have to the Prequels. This makes me so sad in ways I can't articulate. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. ):

Get ready for lots of "Noooooo!" and "Yaaaay!"

Sign me up for "Noooo!" :) Though I accept that all good things must end.

Bad news: it's cancelled. Good news that were getting more arcs presumably as movies/online/whatever electronic media. And that clip, woowowoww!!!!!!

At least they end the show on their own terms. I can't wait to see what will be an amazing end to this series

So, are they gonna release the rest of it as DVD movies or what?

I dont expect Disney to reveal this, but I would really like to know the definitive reason for cancelling TCW. I can accept most reasonable decisions and justifications, including business ones, but I really dont buy the premise that the story has run its course, especially when Filoni says there are more story arcs to be told.

I am pleased that the remaining material is going to be released in one form or another, so there will still be more to look forward to at least for a time. If they were going to trash the unreleased stuff then I'd be upset. And, hey, maybe we won't have to wait till October to see it.

At the same time I'm intrigued by the idea of a new series set in an untouched time period. I predict lots of speculation between now and the eventual press release. I'll start. Maybe they're going to finally take those LA scripts and put them to animation because it's cheaper.

So they're not closing up shop, they're just shifting gears. I look forward to what develops.

Kinda figured this was coming after the episodes being flipped around this season yet again. Thought the ratings were decent at the end of the year, but I've made my position clear that I felt the show had gone down in quality.

I'd bet Young Jedi wll be a go-ahead, and I wonder if they're going to try to get more focused on either the OT era or the post-ROTJ/New Republic era, because of E7 coming out.

How ironic that the two minute clip Dave showed was better than anything shown in S5. :p :(

Congratulations to Dave and his crew on all their hard work, and the great stories and characters they gave us over the years. They did some amazing stuff.

On a more positive note, at least SW:Detours is on hold as well. :D

Didn't I suggest since at least Season 3, if not 2, that they should do straight-to-DVD releases, with the 3 or 4 part arcs cut into a feature length?

Sad to see TCW go, was a great show while it lasted.

However, we're still going to get to see the finished episodes from what it seems and a conclusion to the story. All is not lost!

I'm sad that things are coming to a close... but happy that we're at least getting a proper conclusion. Seems like it just might be this half season we've been hearing about. Clovis arc for sure, Trench/Order 66 arc, possibly a final Ahsoka arc, a final Maul arc and maybe we'll see Boba once more as well as a final episode that dives right into Revenge of the Sith?

Still, sad that it is ending and that the future episodes are deemed "bonus content".

Okay I really dislike Bob Iger... He's cancelled a lot of things I looked forward to and then he got control of Star Wars and postponed/canceled everything he could reach....
I say as some of you at least The Clone Wars gets to end on its on tearms

The original plan was to have about 100 episodes so no big deal. In fact, I think that The Clone Wars has lasted longer than it should and had some stupid episodes like those with droids just for the sake of having 22 episodes a season. Didn't like the Maul parts of the show, he should have stayed death, Kenobi cut him in halves. Anyway, all I want is a good conclusion that makes sense for Ashoka, even if it does mean that she will be killed. In the last episode, she left the order and hopefully the final episodes will be around her.

Obviously the Disney purchase has a lot to do with this but I wouldn't be shocked if it would have happened even if Disney never got involved.

You'll find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view. I was looking forward to Detours. :(

But hey, at least we're getting a little more TCW before the end! Glad to see we will in fact be getting what's already been produced, though I do wonder how. Limited series? TV movies? We'll see, I guess. Loved the clip we got, though of course that's going to bring up an entirely new debate concerning Order 66.
