    Luminara in the Spotlight

Jedi Master Luminara Unduli Take Matters into Her Own Hands in an All-New Episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars --Airing Friday at 9:00pm on Cartoon Network!

In pursuit of Poggle the Lesser, Jedi Master Lumina Unduli descends deep into the catacombs of Geonosis, where she uncovers an even greater threat to the galaxy in "Legacy of Terror," an all-new episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, airing at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT Friday, November 20 on Cartoon Network.

When Luminara disappears while tracking the Geonosian warlord, Obi-Wan and Ki-Adi-Mundi lead a platoon of clone troopers in search of her. Following her trail, the heroes descend deep into the lair of the grotesque Geonosian queen -- Karina the Great -- where they discover that the hive is alive and teeming with undead defenders.

Though the episode finds Luminara confronted by agents of evil deep within the darkest bowels of Karina's underground nest, actress Olivia d'Abo saw her character's strength reflected by the grave nature of the circumstances. Rather than succumbing to despair, Luminara embodies the teachings of the Jedi Order even in desperate times. Despite her thoughtful and meditative nature, she is nonetheless a dedicated protector of peace and justice -- and a formidable warrior when called to action. Faced with the potential escape of her quarry, she doesn't hesitate to follow Poggle into the heart of darkness. Devoted to her noble cause even at the risk of life and limb, she is the quintessential Jedi Master -- brave, strong, sage and selfless.

"Luminara is a Jedi, so she's always going to have that ability to focus and remain calm," says d'Abo "I'm thrilled to be playing a role that requires such wisdom and strength; it is really empowering."

Despite Luminara's seemingly desperate plight, d'Abo relished the opportunity to tap into imagination and celebrate the creative spirit of the "galaxy far, far away."

"The themes and characters in the [live-action] films have had such a major influence on me and everyone I know," says d'Abo. "As a child, Star Wars allowed me to fall into another world that was more vivid, more defined, more authentic and so much more exciting.

Though perhaps best known for her role as Kevin Arnold's elder sister in TV's The Wonder Years, d'Abo boasts a career that has included such iconic genre properties as Conan the Destroyer, Green Lantern: First Flight and Ultimate Avengers.

"I love science-fiction, the fantasy genre and comic books," she says. "They tend to stand the test of time because of their marvelous content; these kinds of projects will always capture people's attention by providing far away settings we'd like to escape to. I've been really lucky with all the roles and projects because I have an innate understanding of what they require. I just jump in and make them my own."

No Rex but it look likes we'll get Cody and the 212th with painted armor. Hopefully we'll see Waxer and Boil in this episode too.

More pumped for this one than the last 2, actually.

Why oh why couldn't this have been the Hallowe'en episode? [face_skull]

So how are they going to be "undead"? By undead do they mean literal zombies or just monsters or aliens?

I'd guess dead troops moved by the terrible will of the Geonosian Hive Queen.

Hudson: Maybe it's like an anthive?
Vasquez: Bees, man. Bees have hives!

Oh well, its not like this is the first time Star Wars has done zombies, the Death Troopers book was barely released a month or so ago. Although that mostly involved normal people, so they only had blasters there. Here we've got Jedi with lightsabers and heavily armoed clonetroopers, so should be pretty entertaining. Just too bad they couldn't have shown this episode a few weeks ago. It would've been perfect for October 30, if they had bothered to show a new episode that week. Wonder if they'll use those flamethrowers again, would be great for this kind of situation.

In Death Troopers the zombies were created by some kind of virus. I wonder what explanation, if any, we'll get for these undead geonosians. I feel a bit wary.

And Karina the Great? Really? Such a normal earth name doesn't quite fit with the other geonosian names we know, does it?

By the preview I can say that this episode is better than the last one. And no Ahsoka.

    Can't wait!

So I'm assuming Karina is like, Poggle's mother or something?

Because I can't tell if he's being a badass leading Luminara into the depths of hell, or just running home to his mommy.:p

yes, the preview is very promising
(sorry for the previous post [face_blush])

I am only a little worried that it looks slightly too much like a beginning of confrontation with goblins in Moria from FOTR

Too bad Sun Fac died in RC. He would have been a great addition to the episode. As for Luminara, she may get captured, but I wonder how she will escape. Possibly the other Jedi will rescue her. Poggle better be good. :p

Once Luminara is trapped in the Geonosian containment field, she will say "Traitor" to Poggle once he walks into the room. :p

It's good to see Obi-Wan, Anakin and Cody again. I'm glad that their will be no Padawans in this episode -- I'm sure we have gotten enough of them last week, heh -- and it may be a decent episode. For this "zombie" thing, I do hope it plays out good, and it's not some silly plot device they're going with for this week's episode.

I see it before me now. Tons of undead geonosians being torched by Ki-Adi's flamethrower troopers.

    Yeah baby, yeah!

I don't think there's any special relation between the two. Poggle is a political leader, while Karina is a queen, which for a bug-species like the geonosians must be a biological thing.

I think we'll be seeing how Master Unduli sneaks into the lair only to witness Poggle mating with the Queen. Humping, and pumping, and doing it, and liking it. The outraged Queen will then unleash her undead minions and Ahsoka saves the day by suggesting that Ki-Adi and his flametroopers march in to torch the nest.

I'm thinking "undead" is probably more like "drones" to protect the queen.

It just bugs me that the official site uses the word "undead", which clearly implies a creature that has died and yet keeps on going. I'd really prefer if they were some sort of drone or diseased creatures. "Living-dead" just don't fit that well into Star Wars, in my opinion.
