Watching the preview for this after last night's episode there's only one thing I want to know.

Forget questions about The Force, forget Qui-Gon. Forget caves, and chosen ones, and forget Ahsoka. Forget all that. I want to know what that big, black space octahedron thingy is with the brightly glowing light in it!

Maybe it's a monolith. That would be hilarious.

    "My god...it's full of stars!"

    Wow, early discussion thread!

I'm really looking forwards to this. I get the feeling that it'll either be great or terrible. Either way, at least we're finally getting some secrets that are revealed in the show, not at a con, or by early screenings.

This may be obvious, but is anyone else thinking there are parallels between:

    Father - Son - Daughter

    Obi-Wan - Anakin - Ahsoka

    Maybe I'm just over-thinking this. [face_plain]

That's actually Liam Neeson, isn't it? If not, damn good impersonation. Qui-Gon is a favorite of mine, looking forward to it.

Episode guide up so soon? [face_thinking]

I'm excited for this episode. It sounds phenominal, I think I'll really enjoy it. It will without a doubt be the make-or-break arc for the series. After Corruption and Assassin, this will decide whether to stay with the show or leave for a lot of fans.

Looks like Anakin needs to bring balance to the Force and the show.

Hmm... You may be on to something. However, I would argue that Anakin - Father, Obi-Wan - Daughter, and Ahsoka - Son. Anakin being the father makes sense, he seems to at this point be neither dark nor light but somewhere in the middle. Obi-Wan being the daughter also makes sense, both represent the light. Now for Ahsoka representing the Son, this requires some speculation. Clearly the Son represents the Dark Side, yet Ahsoka is a light sider. Yet, in that one Season 3.5 preview it shows a corrupted Ahsoka. Also the gargoyle creature, who I assume is the Son, is clearly shown holding Ahsoka in the preview at the end of Witches in the Mist.

Well if he isn't found to be the chosen one that will rather damage the films but knowing Lucas :p

I'm actually quite looking forward to this episode, I think it should be handled pretty well. The major flaw in the last three episodes was due to them being only 22 minutes, so there wasn't enough time to cover half the stuff properly. I hope this arc won't suffer from such flaws.

Origin of the force I don't expect to be covered, probably just a line or two that's been given too much focus.

    It is, indeed, Liam Neeson.

Unless they signed on a voice actor with the exact same name :p

Balance is found in the one who faces his guilt.

Too bad it took Anakin 25 years to face his guilt over the crimes he's committed throughout the saga.

I CANNOT WAIT for these episodes, I think we are going to see the origin of the force, hopefully going to finally see the ancient order of whills after 30 years of hearing about them, I'm ready to have my mind blown! I hoping these episodes will change how we see everything in Star Wars related to the force I am ready to learn some serious G-level cannon!

Ha, my apologies, I don't really keep up [face_mischief]

Like I said, I really like Qui-Gon, hope he gives Obi-Wan some advice. Would it be thematically appropriate for Anakin to interact with Qui-Gon? Can't say I wouldn't want to see it, but at the same time, a lot of how Anakin turned out had to do with Qui-Gon not being there to teach him. Oh well, we'll see.

Looks like next weeks taking a break from Savage too. Probably a good thing, as much as I like him and Maul. I know my brother will be disappointed though... Maul is his favorite character :)

I'm very curious about this one.

On the CN page of TCW, you can see the Father clearly.

I was thinking: Obi-Wan is a father figure to Anakin. Ahsoka's like Anakin's little sister, and it could be said Obi-Wan is a father figure to both of them, which would make Ahsoka the daughter.

Also, the son seems to be the dark one, which parallels Anakin.

Apparently, the "son" is voiced by Sam Witwer. Very interesting... say what you want about TFU, but he is a very good voice actor. Plus, I liked TFU.

Hmm. I noticed this in the 315 preview last night too---does Father's skin look... reddish to anyone else? If you know what I mean.

The father does look similar, but I doubt there is a connection. We all thought Nuvo Vindi and the Moogans were going to be Muuns and Dr. Boll was going to be Rakatan. The series has a history of making deceptive lookalikes. :p

This episode arc has the potential to create a force-****storm in the EU. Having Dark Jedi (Jerec, C'Baoth, Krayt, Caedus etc.) return after Jedi BARELY dodges the chosen-one-theory-bullet as it is. When the Chosen One theory is further developed, it could go in a such a way that there is no possible explanation for darkness returning after Jedi, that does not give you a headache to think about. It will also undoubtedly contradict the ending of Tartarvoski's CW series, in the sense that Anakin will have already passed the trial of spirit.

Overall I'm sure that this story arc will be very well told and engaging with a few surprises packed, and will have brilliant animation and fight scenes. However like most other TCW episodes, it's the actual STORY that is told that brings the whole GFFA down, not the way it is told.

    well what about

The Force - The Dark Side - The Light Side

    wow 3 parallels

and there is also both Starkiller and Maris Brood as well;)

That's untrue! I never thought such a thing and i don't believe all others would have- Vindi and especially moogans are nothing like muuns anyway[face_shame_on_you] - don't say things that aren't true- and no.... father is not a sith.... of course he is not a sith damn it - i don't know if Lucas ever heard about sith being species- my theory is that he is Whill but he may be something completely different altogether.... i'm very surprised if he is sith but in this series Nuvo Vindi looks muun as much Dooku does....

Well origin of the Force is not exactly a new thing- we have known it since 1977- first time when we heard about the Force Obi-Wan says" It's the energyfield created by all living things"- or is Ben lying once again "Ben why didn't you tell me- Force is just random magic coming from Mortis -not a cool energyfield?!" No way- i think that revelation is just the same as in ANH- the Force is created by life so this arc is pretty pointless after all- if this seriously starts to mess up with saga itself then this show is digging it's own grave..... Ok Mortis works as an amplifier of the universal Force if that's the revelation- it's spoiled well before episodes airing[face_tired] and identity of the Chosen One is pretty clear for Obi-Wan in the Rots so only interesting thing is Ahsoka's fate and it won't be revealed yet anyway......

Also i'm very disappointed if these three beings are not going to be Whills- since they are obviously based on them- whills are known by canon but never seen in any source- and they nearly gained a brief mention in ROTS as teachers of the Qui-Gon Jinn (hint, hint;) ) They are also created by Lucas before the Force itself so they could finally appear..... I also hope that Mortis is not a place that can be found easily from every star map it has to be mystic enough now when it appears- it's ridiculous if it's place where every single weequay pirate or twi'lek dancer can go to meet dead people or see whills who turn to dragons- it must be a mystical place that cannot be found without the guidance of the Force
