I was curious about that, but Ahsoka's goggles sort of snap on to her temples.
Hondo's goggles have a band that wraps around his head.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to this episode like someone who has been trudging across a scorching, sweltering, endless desert and suddenly views an oasis of fresh, sparkling, life-giving water on the horizon.

A repeat of a painful-to-read comic arc. [face_tired] And talk about unoriginality when it comes to their story ideas.

I see it has a bad transition, meaning going from the Umbara arc to this arc.

That's the plot for the first episode or the entire arc?

I kinda wish that Rex wasn't in this episode, and we used the 212th instead of the 501st. Cody needs some love, and the 501st needs some time to reflect on Umbara. Rex is gonna be the "Yes Sir!" clone again during this episode. Just there to beef up the cast so other clones can die.

Exactly. If they follow the comic exactly (and I kind of hope they don't for once), Rex is a total tool.

    They could easily fix that.

Yeah, it will be a real pity to see Rex suddenly snap back to his "standard clone" behaviour, with no reflection of the incredible ordeal he's just been through. That's what the show is really lacking for me. Sure, down the road there will be another Rex arc where his development will continue, and maybe the events on Umbara will even come up, but for all the stories in between, it's like it's never happened.

That will be too bad considering the while on paper an arc that deals with togruta slaves sounds plenty interesting for both Anakin and Ahsoka. I could see where it could be a good one for the clones that share their screen time as well. Rex and 501st at this point would be overload so this arc would definitely be better running some episodes later (granted as a selfish fangirl I can handle more of him). But imagine after all he's just been threw on Umbara Rex is confronted about essentially being a slave to the republic. Atleast one of the clones preferably Jesse or Tup should return for something like that. That really validates his last two lines of dialogue in the Umbaran arc. Granted it would be possible and interesting to go the same direction with Cody and Boil (?) just to see how differently things turn out. Or hell lets get the first real Rex and Cody action since "Voyage of Temptation". I also get a little frustrated with the lack of continuity. However Filoni said things would connect this season so I'm hoping for some bones to get thrown at me somewhere. I don't want to wait another season and a half to see those strings picked up again.

I also wish that this wasn't immediately after the Umbara arc. This feels like filler to pass the time between big episodes. If we're doing filler, put in on other characters. Like maybe Barriss?

Maybe this arc follow directly after will finally show us some sort of continuity. Granted there is none what so ever in the first six episodes so probably very wishful thinking. I'm general an optimist on the subject to TCW but not when it comes to overall underlying plots.

It will be interesting to see if Rex working with the Big Three to free slaves will further the idea that he will eventually be leaving the 501st. They've been at least playing with the idea since The Deserter.

I'm wondering if they're purposely keeping down the Kenobi/Cody interaction because it would make the turn in ROTS less likely. It's a fine balance between making the Order 66 effective and chilling, to see how quickly they could turn, and making it simply inconceivable.

Which again, is my problem with the PT - everything crucial is rushed. We have one brief conversation where Obi-Wan refers to Cody as "old friend" or whatever, and that's it.

So the question is, what makes Rex different from Cody, if we think he's not going to turn on the Jedi? Maybe we'll see him kill Ahsoka, now that would be chilling.

Anyway, I have to admit I'm a huge sucker for speeder bikes, so this episode already looks alright to me. I loved the parts of Jedi Academy where you had to fight on the bike.:-B

Yeah, I'm not familiar with the comic, so I'm pretty excited for the subject. It sounds good at least.

Let's hope they've adapted the story so that it's not so bad as it (supposedly) is in the comics.

I agree. It looks like an interesting story, and I look forward to seeing this perhaps more than the Umbaran episodes.

I'm hoping there will be some actual repercussions to this episode as in:
    a) Ahsoka warning the Jedi Council that Anakin is becoming dangerously unstable.
    b) Ahsoka requesting to be re-assigned to another Master.

Of course, neither will happen because TCW does not follow through with repercussions. The story arcs that are suppose to have a consequence seem to act completely self-contained and do not affect other story arcs.

:( I really do feel bad for those who have read the comic and already know the story only to now see it changed[face_plain] - but I haven't read it[face_monkey] .... and I do like the idea of togruta slaves- nice foreshadowing of Imperial terror- good to see Anakin- previous slave- trying to keep his personal feelings out of this matter...... interesting anyway and even Obi and Cody has a role[face_dancing] .... so I probably end up to like this episode and arc- better comic-adaptions are than Padmé's adventures (etc.) stuff but I do deprecate GL from changing the story[face_shame_on_you] - especially placing it in the timeslot where it had to be changed....... pure adaption of course would've also been boring and mainly useless but changes are the biggest prob I have with this-

At least they used those nice names "Kiros" and "Zygerrian" from the comic- hopefully Miraj Scintel also appears with her own name and mention of her position in seppie council.....

Eh, I once asked at an FAQ if they'd adapt any existing comic stories into episodes of the series.

Unfortunately, this wasn't what I meant. (I was hoping for even older material, though now I can see that'd just cause more continuity mess, so no need.)

Guess the old comic's an infinities story now.

I was really hoping the Mado episode would happen here. I never expected this to be a 3 parter (should've known better).

Still, I'll at least enjoy whatever development Anakin and Ashoka get out of this, and I've missed Obi-Wan being a major character this season. His cameos in Umbara were a tease, but a little bit more is nice.

I think what they are doing is they are setting Rex up to be a character to ease the pain for the kiddies who haven't seen ROTS yet. A sort of one or two clone redemption or something. It does seem to me in the end he'll leave the 501st eventually, likely that'll have something to do with order 66. Its not what I really want but makes sense.

    I do think more of Obi-wan and Cody and Cody and Rex is needed for contrast. I really hope Boil is still out there so there is an old original 212th clone available to receive development. I think Crys, the clone with the long blond hair from "The Deserter" is also a good candidate to return and get development. I've kinda found interest in him since the Umbaran arc as to where before I didn't care. Seems like he'd probably be an odd man out;

Oh well, that's all kinda off topic. I'm starting to look more and more forward to this arc. This one could get just deep. Hope Obi-wan gets to do something.

This is the comic that brought us Ahsoka's "jailbait" outfit, right? [face_plain] I hope the powers that be have the sense to leave it out...
