the death of Yarael Poof and Yaddle

Is there any news about the deaths of Yareal Poof or Yaddle??

 

Yarael Poof died in the Zam Wessel one-shot comic while saving Coruscant from Annoo-Dat terrorists and a powerful artifact. Yaddle died in I *think* Jedi Quest 5. I don't know the details of that one though.

 

Yaddle died in Jedi Quest 6. I don't know the details either. Although the summary for Jedi Quest 7 said that Anakin felt guilt for not preventing the death of a Jedi Council member.

 

From 'Jedi Quest - The Shadow Trap':
"He barely registered her words. A terrible certainty was growing. And then everything was clear to Anakin, as clear as the hard-edged stars. He realized what Yaddle was about to do.
'No!' he shouted. But he could already feel it. Yaddle was drawing in the great net of the Force she had created, drawing it around her so tightly and fiercely and strongly that Anakin fell to his knees. He had never felt the force move like this. He couldn't speak or move.
From far below, Granta detonated the explosives. Anakin heard a sharp pop, nothing more, The Force grew until Anakin was dazzled. Instead of exploding, the cannister imploded, and Yaddle drew the toxic gas and the explosive power in, absorbing it into her body.
Then she simply disppeared. A shower of light particles swirled, hung in the air, then evaporated".

 

I hear Obi-Wan and others blame Anakin for her death?

 

I'm mad, they were some of my favorite Jedi!

 

Yaddle is dead? That's really sad.

Didn't know that, since I haven't followed the Jedi Quest series. I thought she had merely resigned from the Jedi Council between Episodes I and II.

P.S. If she (her body) disappeared, does that mean she could come back as a Force ghost (like Yoda & Obi-wan)?

 

It should have been another councilor. Yaddle and Yoda were a rare species.

 

It was forced on by lucas though, IIRC, in one of the making of books from the U.K. it said something to the effect of Lucas not wanting the character in AOTC, the backhistory being that she died between TPM, and AOTC. So Jedi Quest is finally giving a background story to Lucas wishes.

when Poof's death was first told in the Zam/Jango TPB set, i was wondering why Yareal didn't use his second set of arms -- then again, i realized that as a quermian, he didn't have a second set of arms (unlike a xexto).. but today i checked TOS and the entry for Poof mentions that he has two sets of arms.. so why didn't he use them?

 

I liked Yaddle

 

Maybe they are like our ear muscles - if you don't start using them at an early age, you lose them. Or perhaps they end in stumps? Or something like that.

 

But why Poof as a name? It conjures reminders of the slang term for homosexual.

that reminds me. do you think any of the jedi council members had any..."discretions" kinda like Catholic priests?

 

It just occurred to me. I don't know, maybe that term is unfamiliar in certain parts of the world? Different expressions in different countries. It's always been glaringly obvious when I see the name/word.

 

Maybe it means something different in America . . . just curious.

I also heard that Yarael Poof was extremely hard top animate while fighting in the arena battle.

 

Weren't Yaddle and Yoda the same species?
