Every summer since 2002, the European Fan Forces like to join together for one big meet. Over at the European forum, we are discussing which city shall host the meeting for 2006. This year Germany and Spain are up for nominations. The GSFF (German Speaking Fan Force) have listed three cities for us to ponder and have provided useful links to show which each city/region has to offer. These three cities/regions are:
    Berlin
    Hamburg
Rhein/Main (includes Frankfurt, Mainz and Weisbaden).

The GSFF would like us to vote for one of their chossen three Cities so that they can then concentrate on building one, big nomination.
The thread where all this is happening can be found here: Euro FF Meet 2006!

Spain are still putting together their nomination(s).

Previous meetings have taken place in London, Paris, Lisbon and Stockholm.
Me and Ant were present for the last one in 2005 and it was BRILLIANT, so it?s well worth thinking about going if you can. Once a City has been decided, we can then begin to arrange a date but usually the meet takes place between late July and August and lasts for about 5 days.

If you're interested in going or would like some more info, just let us know and any input would be most welcome!!
    Thanks :)

This page will give everyone a better idea of what to expect during the Euro meet: Euro meet discussion 2006
Find the post by the GSFF RSA (MacCaffrey) and you'll find some very useful links showing which each German candidacy has to offer and what kind of activities we'll be doing. In short, we'll be site-seeing, picnics, games, cinema, crazy stuff :p

Koren, if you're really interested in going and one of the German candidacies really takes your fancy, let me know because the GSFF would like to concentrate on one main bid and they'd like to do that quite soon. Thanks :)

btw, a rough cost figure would be £200-300 each, but that's worse case scenario IMO and hopefully £150-200 should be enough.

I've already posted all this over at the regional boards.... but I'll do it again.
Always wanted to be banned :D ;)

    Hey folks :)

As promised I have some news for you :)

Finally the members of the European FanForce have decided for us which city will be our candidate as host for the European FanForce Meeting 2006:
    It's our capital BERLIN!

The German FanForce is working on our final candidacy at the moment.
So feel free to check the Meeting Planning thread from time to time. And please feel invited to share your thoughts and ideas with us :)

The Spanish FanForce announced to have their candidacy ready in about three weeks.
Another reason to check the thread mentioned above ;)

To find out which date would be best to held the meeting for the majority of the poeple chimealheltei from der GSFF created some kind of poll.
We would like you who are interessed to attend the meeting to insert their favorite dates :)
    Here is the poll.

    So much for now :)

Thanks for the update Jule, and congrats to Berlin!! :D
Now I hope that the GSFF are busy putting together their final presentation ;)

Michi's timetable plotter is a nice idea too, and I also strongly urge those who are seriously interested in going to the Euro meet to submit their free days because that'll be a really useful guideline for when we "try" to finalise some kind of dates. That said, a few things have arisen which means I can't say for sure now when I will be free, but hopefully I can add to it very soon **fingers crossed**

If Matthew can get time off from work then we'll definetly be going. I've been to different places in Spain and although it is a beautiful country I think my vote will be going to Berlin, purely because I've never been to Germany. Either way, it all sounds good to me. So here's looking forward to good relations with our European cousins. [:D]

Excellent news Matt & Koren :D
I haven't been to Spain, but I did spend quite a bit of time in Germany last year ( which was all Jule's fault really :p ), but I can't speak highly enough about it. It's like England but the trains actually work and there aren't as much roadworks. Oh, and you don't have to pay for drinks until you leave the pub, which is wierd but good.

It would be great to see you there Jase, and other people from the UK too :D

Just to give everyone an update, Manu (the CR for Spain) has sadly decided to pull out of the City candidacy. Therefore the meet will be in Berlin, although not sure if that's 100% official yet.

We are also trying to decide upon a date for the meet. The voting form for 'free dates' has been changed recently. We've decided that the meet will take place between a Wednesday-to-Sunday period, we just need to decided which Wednesday-to-Sunday that will be. Here is a link to the new form:2006 Euro Meet date decision

It's very hard knowing when you'll be free exactly, but if you know there's a good chance you'll be free for any of the dates on the form, please check the box and submit.
    Thanks!! :D

I'd say the more the merrier :D

The German FanForce (with special Thanks to chimealheltei) has created a website with the main information on Berlin and the meeting so far. You can find it here.
If you have any other questions or comments please visit the planning thread on the FanForce Europe Region General Discussions board.

    :)

If anyone might be interested, then check this out in the European FF site. The date is yet to be finalised but it'll be taking place roughly around august time. ONLY vote though if you're seriously interested in going otherwise you're just gonna end up muckng up the dates for people who may be thinking of attending. :)
