The explosion blew the shoes of Corde's feet?

If you notice in AOTC's first scene, Corde, Padme's hand maiden, isn't wearing any shoes! This is one of the weirder quirks in the film. What happened here?

 

That happens in real life. Victims in bombings are often ripped out of their clothes.

 

That makes sense, as well as being rather disturbing.

 

Is anyone with me to believe that Corde had severe internal injuries? Also I noticed only few months ago, that there was blood spots all around the floor, beside Corde.

 

Yeah, that scene is pretty funny. She got blown out of her shoes, dizanm! Them Bounty Hunters aint no joke. To further the comedy her fro-wig is busted and she has a trickle of blood on her mouth-OlSchool Karate-flick style.

Was the weapon that blew her socks off timed? I mean, when did Zam set it? where? how?. Was Zam able to monitor the Queen decoy and decide when the bomb went off?

geez, she's the decoy, she died the senator lived.

seems to me she did her job spot on.

and just for the record i would not be so cavalier about it if it were a real life event, but since it's a movie that line always strikes me as funny.

 

I kinda think she means that Padme doesn't have a neverending supply of decoys and she will be on her own from now on. It's more like 'S#it, you're next!' but more soubtle.She was next afterall....

Even car accident victims loose their shoes because of the sheer force of their movement. I thought it gave a greater realism to the scene.

Bad writing? I think George puts lines in where he wants a certain feel regardless if it contradicts the situation. Actually Corde did what she was supposed to do. Die instead of Padme. She did an excellent job. But the dramatics in her saying she failed was something Lucas I think turned to for a certain vibe. He does it throughout the film. Remember when they are outside Padme's bedroom? The intent of the scene was to bring a oldstyle mystery feel to it. And it works and I liked it. But to raise the stakes of this vibe Lucas throws out "Your using her as bait". What? There is no indication or sense of this "plot" and they even imply that Annie and Padme conspired together on it. There was no trap or bait just the mention of it to make it feel juicy. LIkE some big-O gHEETO @$$.

i've always just chuckled at lines like that.

Another movie you see this in is "Do The Right Thing", toward the end you see shoes sitting around from the people that got hit by the fire hose.

Hey if a bomb that big didn't blow some ones shoes off i would be surprised. heck im surprised it didn't burn more of cordes clothes.
