Ah, good to see the echo stones come back, I had almost forgotten about them. And more secrets of the sith - even long dead (mostly) their legacies still cause trouble.
It was a one shot, it was barely relevant and I think mostly muddled the timeline in the closing act of Phase 2.
It seemed like a strong hint that echo stones are the key part of the rods that control the Nameless.
Yup. I believe it was mentioned that they had their origins in the Sith Wars as well, so they immediately stuck me as the key to everything that is going on.
Hold on, one-shot? Just done some looking and, strange as it sounds, doesn't look to have been collected in the High Republic Adventure trades! Which explains it. Hopefully, they bundle it here.
Huh I didn't realize it hadn't been collected. Hopefully you're right Ben and it gets collected with this mini.
Spoiler: Issue #1 cover Well, for the second time in a row an ancient Sith looks like Mister Sinister. Have nothing against it, just a little funny.
Spoiler Death Moon aka Death Star Zero... or given Zero was the Maw Prototype... would this be Death Star -1?
Spoiler Framing the story as an in-universe legend is pretty clever: so long as nothing else goes in that time period, it can be a plausible origin. If anything does contradict it though, one can go "hey it was just a story" Also I like that they didn't go all "the legend must be true, skeptics are stupid!" and more "it doesn't matter if it is true, the fact that the legend exists and has accurate information about the echo stones is enough"
Spoiler Art in the legend's part is stunning. Seems like this space station is so far the biggest construction by "ancients" in the NU Canon.
I’m still having that problem where I’m getting this #1 instead of Adventures #9. I can’t find a way to contact Amazon about fixing the glitch.
Spoiler: Issue #2 So, echo stones are most likely just a natural phenomenon. Liked the story about Jedi using one for greater good and consequences of it, somewhat reminded me of Barriss' storyline in MedStar and her usage of bota. With supernatural properties of Planet X, Barnabas may still be alive by the time of Phase 3.
Spoiler Fun story. Though by the same logic, they shouldn't use the force at all, given how bad it can be for the galaxy when people fall to the darkside. But anyway, I do like how this feels a lot more like actual research than a lot of stories. There isn't one source with all the answers, but clues hidden within other narratives, and even then sometimes things just stop and leave other mysteries, like what happened with Barnabas at the end.
Spoiler: Issue #3 With very limited usage of walkers by both the Republic and the Nihil in THR, them being used by other smaller factions seems somewhat strange.
