I haven't heard this one, but if Dooku: Jedi Lost and Doctor Aphra are any indication...they need to cut these 8 hour audio monoliths into more digestible chunks. I like that audio dramas are now "back" and all, but they should be cut down into two-hour releases and serialize them or something. As a semi-functioning adult, I don't have time to sit and listen to anything that long, let alone one main character narrating chapter after chapter while occasionally interspersed with action and other voices. Doctor Aphra was particularly tedious.

I have a hard time processing information through audio-only and generally need to read the words/script in front of me in order to fully understand the story. Having the separate script release helps, but I think they should just have a novel version and a two-hour audio drama that is adapted from that. There's no need for these War & Peace-length audio beasts.

Oh boy, don't listen to The Wheel of Time then! 30-45 hours per book on average.

I'm fortunate to have a job that I can pop in earbuds and listen to these things while working. The biggest problem with Tempest Runner and probably Tempest Breaker is Lourna Dee. She suuuuuucks.

So just break it up by scene. Press pause, come back another time.

Also these are hella short compared to audio books for most full novels. Six hours is nothing compared to, say, Thrawn's sixteen hours, or if we want to go real crazy, War & Peace's actual runtime of sixty hours.

I mean I don’t sit and listen to these in one go. Plus when I do listen to these it’s anywhere between 1.8-2.3 speed but that’s the case for all audible books I get. If I go beyond 2.3 I start to not understand what is being said.

Audio books are meant to be long and unabridged. Audio dramas (with cast) are generally meant to be short, or serialized like a radio drama.

Aside from the Classic Trilogy Radio Dramas (which are meant to be episodic), there is no Star Wars audio drama (from 1999 and before) that breaks the two hour mark.

The problem is simple - Cavan loves Dee, I don't.

Tempest Runner is the only unfinished one of the four I own. This'll be the first one I skip.

Lourna's smug expression on the cover is hilarious.
Seems like a bridge between vol 3 and some final comic about Keeve, probably a mini-series.

Keeve's cut out her jedi symbol in the cover so this is probably where her turn to lost twenty starts

If it’s as pointless as Runner I’ll be skipping also.

Not really excited about this either. Tempest Runner was not good in my opinion, unlike the Dooku audio drama or the Battle of Jedha one. Not really excited about that one getting a sequel. Though unlike some other I actually don't mind Lourna Dee just wasn't a fan of Tempest Runner.

I am not excited as I don’t like Dee as a character and kinda just want her to die. I have a sneaking suspicion they’ll try to redeem her, but I won’t be happy if that’s the case.

I think all of the high republic audio dramas have been on the weaker side compared to Jedi Lost and Aphra

That might also be a limitation of the tech of the day. Would you prefer it if the audio drams had more "break points" where you can stop with out feeling like a hard cut?

Yes. It would be a lot more digestible.

Seems quite possible. Although hope that Keeve will leave the Order not because of influence of Lourna's cynic philosophy.

Is Keeve even a Jedi master yet? I haven’t read the more recent comics.

since I thought the lost twenty were only Jedi masters and not knights

I fear, even if that does happen it will be a 'win' for Lourna and she will die happy or some such.

Again she had her chance at redemption in Tempest runner. She still chose evil. And I just find her incredibly unlikeable. So even though I know it’s unlikely I am rooting for her death

Considering that in the recent comic issue
Lourna complained to Keeve that the Jedi are cruel to her that seems like a metacommentary on police brutality, such outcome is rather possible.

Hope that there will be more Lourna/Marchion interactions than in Tempest Runner, they have a fun dynamic of two megalomaniacs.

That’s extremely disappointing. Again I really hope she just dies.

I really hope the crossed through is not the choice they are going for, given how aweful she is and that she keeps attacking even after being disarmed.
