The horrifying green moth commercial about sleeping pills.

There is a commercial for a sleeping pill called Lunesta or something like that.

The commercial features a horrible neon green moth flying into a persons bedroom and hovering menacingly about their room.

This commercial is meant to suggest something peaceful and nice.

However if I was trying to get to sleep, the thing that would not make me go to sleep is probably a creepy and suspicious moth. In fact, if a bright green moth flew into my room, I am pretty sure I would run away and hide and not return to my room, and therefore LOSE sleep.

In my opinion the commercial is absurd.

Holy baboons literally 10 seconds on that site and I started to get wicked tired.

Every time I see that commercial I think it is that green fairy [face_alien_1] from Moulin Rouge! The one that appears when they get messed up on absinthe.

 

The hills are alive, with the sound of music!

 

Perhaps it is some sort of mild psychedelic. I shall investigate this matter further in the weeks to come.

Like the old Zoloft site. It was one of the most depressing and demoralising websites I had ever been to. There was even this terrifying picture for PTSD that I had a nightmare about once.

They changed the website though, so now everything's a little more upbeat and less bland. But I will always remember...

 

It's all about the Ambien! They don't use pupating insects in their commercials in order to sell their sleep.

I actually agree here. That moth would disturb me and I probably would lose sleep. I have mosquito net over my bed, and it would likely get caught in it and then make lots of scary and creepy flitting noises. The fact that it's glowing green would also worry me about how crazy they're getting out at our missile range, twenty miles from here.

 

Apparently it's a lunar moth. I was doing some video work at a drug rep conference about a month ago and the Lunesta rep mentioned it was a lunar moth. You're ahead of the game even suggesting it's a moth, as a lot of people have asked him, "What's the deal with that butterfly?" in those commercials.

 

I think that moth sews your mouth shut too.

 

Possibly it's radioactive. Maybe that's how they get you to sleep. The radioactivity stimulates the areas of the brain responsible for entering the initial phase of sleep, causing you to immediately fall unconscious for the night.

 

I hate moths. HATE. I believe they are mini-Satan spawns.

The best thing about that commercial is when they say that a side effect of taking Lunesta is drowsiness.
