Does Peanuts not seem like an autobiography of our lives?

Many comics including Peanuts have had an enormous effect on my life. They've made me think about things, laugh about things that I didn't think were silly, and realize that many people share the same problems I face.

Take for instance the comic Heart of the city.

This comic is making me think harder then I ever did about the Nazis.

    So, what comics affect you?

(Many thanks to Carosel for the idea)

-- I really can't say that it is, although I will say that the comic has covered a lot of topics that are related to my life personally.

As for comics making an impact on my life, there is one definate thing I can say about a good majority of comics I've read : They definately make me crack a smile when I could use one on some mornings. In general, though, comics can have many impact on our lives - there are political cartoons and comics that help us rethink our moral values and government issues and there are funny comics that help us laugh for starters.

Does 2000 AD fall into that category? Cos if so, it DEFINITELY changed my life, I don`t read it any more, but from when I was 14 till I was about 21, it was almost the centre of my life!!!

Ayy! It's Benny Blanco from the Bronx! :p

Yeah, Peanuts is one of the most important snapshots of childhood you'll ever see and easily the most important comic strip of all time.

The only one that equals it's genius and impact, in my opinion is Calvin and Hobbes, which is also a snapshot of childhood, interspersed with a lot of satirical commentary on society.

The Far Side is another one that personally changed my life, teaching me that the bizarre could be humourous. And of course The Far Side parodys a lot of society too.

So, yes, besides their hilarious punchlines (and those three above are easily the funniest comic strips of all time), they also have a lot of cultural significance and personal significance to me.
