    Here is some more info.

The new band formed by ex-GUNS N' ROSES members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum has contributed a cover of PINK FLOYD's
"Money" to the soundtrack to the forthcoming remake of the 1969 British caper comedy "The Italian Job". Joining the group on the recording are STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland, who is widely believed to be the top candidate to fill the "permanent" singer slot in the band, presently known only as "THE PROJECT", and keyboardist Teddy Andreadis, who has previously played with SLASH'S SNAKEPIT and CAROLE KING, among others.

It has an expected theatrical release date of May 30, with the World Premiere tentatively set to take place on May 11 as part of the Tribeca Film Festival.

I had no idea this was a remake, but the trailer is freakin' cool, and Edward Norton is a cool actor. :D

    Here's some more info:

Edward Norton, as part of his deal with Paramount when he made Primary Fear, was "optioned", that is legally bound to appear in another Paramount film of their choosing. They wanted him to make The Italian Job. He said no, that he didn't believe in the project. So, rather than wait for a project he did believe in, they took him to court, and the court ordered him to make the movie.

So that's why Norton is in The Italian Job.

He has since sworn to never work with Paramount again.

I now have less respect for Paramount. Ed Norton is a great actor and Mark Whalburg is not to shabby either, should be a good movie.

As for the project, I am excited to here some of their work. I have a lot of respect for Slash, he is a very eclectic musician and deserves more credit than he is normally given.

I saw the trailer at the theater the other day. When it was over, I leaned over to my friend and said that I had no reason to see the movie anymore, because the trailer had given away the entire plot. [face_plain]

PEZman4 If you remember, Ocean's 11 had a trailer that seemed to give away the plot for the movie, but it did not. No production company would ever ruin their summer box office chances by doing that.

    I never saw Ocean's 11. [face_blush]

I'll still probably see TIJ. Perhaps there are still a few surprises left; I just hate spoilers, that's all. (I've avoided X2 stuff as much as possible.)

As a big Ed fan, I've heard all the background and can say if you are expecting to see a good performance from him, don't. He openly says he dialed it in, and doesn't want his fans to support it. It's kind of a debate among fans because we want to see Ed, but on the otherhand... well I still haven't decided *sigh*

I never noticed how little sence that last post made. Moving on.

The movie comes out in 2 weeks. It is not known if the project/ reloadeds version of money will be on the album soundtrack, but its definately in the movie.

So, tonight was the sneak preview of the movie. I get to the theatre at 6:45, an entire 45 minutes before the movie starts. And guess what..... It was sold out!!! So now, I, who passed up going to La Paz in malibu and waiting around for a certain someone whose name is part of my user name, to go see this movie, has to wait until friday to see the movie. :_|

i just can't get over how hot charlize theron looks in the trailer and on the poster...

they sneaked the movie here at UCLA and some of my friends saw it... they said it was mediocre, great action but very predictable plot.

What's with Mark Walberg and remakes?

    Planet of the Apes.
    Trouble with Charlie ("Charade")
    now ITALIAN JOB.

The first two sucked. The third doesn't look much better. The moment in the trailer when Norton gets hit after saying "You blew the element of surprise" is one of the most annoying moments in recent trailer history. You hope it's a good movie? How many good movies has one of its stars acting in it under duress? Why do they keep remaking great movies?

    The second I saw the trailer, all I could think was, "How on earth did they get Edward Norton to participate in this crap?" 8-}

The original is a great film. And the last cool Michael Caine movie to be remade was Get Carter, which was a cinematic abortion sans protestors. [face_plain]

I'm not gonna see this, despite liking Norton as an actor and loving Charlize Theron [face_love]

As for Mark Walberg? He's slighly less wooden than Christopher Lambert. Slightly...

This could shape up to be one of the worst remakes in history. Take all the charm of the first movie (c'mon, what guy didn't want to be like Charlie?) and completely rip it to shreds. Add a loud soundtrack, some over-the-top stunts oh and we have to have the main woman punching the bad guy in the face too, yeah! Rock on!

COME UP WITH SOME ORIGINAL IDEAS, HOLLYWOOD.
