The Italian Job

The Italian Job was just released on DVD this tuesday. What do people think of it? and how do you like it compared to the original?

 

The original is a classic. One of my favourite movies of all time.

I love the original. I picked up both versions. I've watched the first twenty minutes or so from the remake. So far, the only similarity seems to be the name Charlie Croker and the fact that there's a Mini Cooper chase. Oh, and there's a heist in Italy. Other than that, they're very different, from what I've seen so far.

 

They didn't want to do a direct re-make of the origial. I think that's better, and opens up their plot a bit. Re-makes are for the most part, just a visual upgrade, but it's better when they change the plot a bit and make a different movie.
