Well we all know after unifying force, Jacen leaves to search out some of these groups. What are the Jensaarai, what do they believe in and who started them? Same with all the other quasi force groups. Thanks

Tyia -- WEG Star Wars RPG
    Jensaari -- I, Jedi
Dathomiri -- The Courtship of Princess Leia
    Ang Tii -- HoT Duology

    I think those are correct...

The Jensaarai are a bunch of Sith technique trained Jedi who have developed some primitive shamanistic techniques based around the Force being a brightly covered rainbow. Luke I hope recruited them all into the 'mainstream' Jedi.

The Aing-Ti Monks were introduced in Visions of the Future. Jorg Cardas (sp?) explains that they are force users like the Jedi. But unlike the Jedi who see things in shades of black and white (ie: light and dark) the Ang-Ti monks see the force in many different colors, like a rainbow. He demonstrates this for Kaarde by using his powers to transport a glass from his kitchen to where he was sitting in his study.

The Jensaarai I believe were founded by Nyyko Tyrias (sp?) who at the time, had been swayed to the Dark side by Dooku as one of hte Anzati jedi who were promised information from the Sith Holocron. I think that was the CW retcon for that particular event. After Nyyko's death, the Jensaarai carried on those teachings, which included some Sith instructions, but not enough to really dig the evil hooks in. They were kinda in that grey area.

Their armour was neat, as it was fashioned after a particular animal, and was made with laced cortosis ore. Nice suprise if your fighting a Jedi, which they would do if the situation came up. I believe the story told went that the son of the Jensaarai leader offered his services to Vader during the Purge, but was killed by Vader. Probably for being too Jedi like.

Thats all I can really remember from I, Jedi.

The witches of Dathomir were Force-strong women, descendants of a rogue Jedi named Allya. The Old Republic didn't want to execute her, so the Jedi exiled her int the hope that she might turn away from the Dark Side.
The witches use 'spells' to use the Force, although some Dathomiri witches used the 'night' spells, and became corrupted with the Dark Side. These dark witches formed the Nightsisters- COPL tells of their fate.
Luke had a Dathomiri witch in his first batch of Jedi students- Kirana Ti. Tenel Ka is the daughter of a witch of Dathomir, and identifies more strongly with her Dathorimi heritage than her royal background.

I think the Jensaarai used cortosis armour, but I'm not sure. 'I, Jedi' didn't stick much in my mind.

The Fallanassi are featured in Michael Kube-McDowell's Black Fleet Crisis trilogy. They are followers of the 'White Current', and are masters at illusion, a trick which they taught Luke, who used it to form an illusion around Yavin 4. Luke had a brief relationship with one of the Fallanassi, Akanah Normand Pell, who tricked him into believing that a woman named Nashira was his mother. That was a strange trilogy.

The Potentium Heretics can be found in Greg Bear's 'Rogue Planet' and in Sean Williams and Shane Dix's 'Force Heretic' trilogy. Followers of the Potentium don't believe in the polarity of light and dark- which led some followers to inadvertantly fall to the Dark Side anyway.
CeiranHarmony could probably give you a better explanation.

The Disciples of Ragnos- Markos Ragnos was an ancient Sith. The sources I've found him in are Jedi Academy, where you must fight the new wave of Ragnos cultists, and when you explore his tomb in KOTOR. There might be some mentions of him in the comics, but I don't know.

The Gand Findsmen- one of Corran's squadron mates is a Gand. I think you can read about him in the X-Wing series and 'I, Jedi'.

    Hope my vague definitions helped.

I still can't figure out any plausible explanation for that. Delving into a dimension beyond hyperspace, I guess. [face_thinking]

Although another CoW member was recruiting with nachos and Waru dip, this sounds too much like a Faustian pact...it would mean I would have to officially acknowledge Vonda N. McIntyre's contribution to SW continuity.

What to do, what to do...

well.. this isn´t Faustian.. it is Warusive^^

and about the Potentium, quite right: they believe the dark side is something within you, if you destroy or control your inner darkness, there is no dark side, as long as you have none within you, that way you can´t fall. for a more detailed explanation check my other threads please where I discussed the Potentium. thx

The Aing-Ti Monks were actually introduced into the SW universe in the WEG rpg - The "DarkStryder Campaign" ( http://cargobay.starwars.com/webapps/cargobay/item-detail/7815 ), the "Kathol Rift" ( http://cargobay.starwars.com/webapps/cargobay/item-detail/7792 ), and the "Kathol Outback" and "End Game" sourcebooks (no entries in cargo bay for these). This was way back in 1995.

About 5 years back, there was an article on SW.com called "Terror from Beyond the Rim" which had a small section on the monks - http://www.starwars.com/eu/lit/novel/f20000817/indexp2.html
