The Little Things That Anoy You

Well there is loads of threads that say little things they have noticed about AOTC, they are way to many of these threads, so I thought, why not post them all here?

I was just watching the arena battle and I noticed three things that anoyed me:

1. When Obi Wan tells Anakin that Padme 'Seems to be on top of things', Anakin turns around and looks at where she is, not where he thinks she is.

2. Why does Padme take so long to get the second handcuff or watever it is called off? She got the first one off in seconds with the inconvenience of having to use her mouth.

3. When the ackley knocks down the pillar, Obi Wan rolls and and no way is he going to make it under the pillar, Is it going to squash him? NO! the camera changes and he got under safe.

The Edit where Anakin/Dooku first cross sabers right over Kenobi, and then all of a sudden they're magically at the far end of the room the next shot.

Only thing that really annoys me in this film

 

All puns are annoying by default. It should be a part of the official definition. It makes Harabec cringe, and shortly thereafter, rampage.

And I enthusiastically agree that the editing of the duel was awful. Of all the things to cut from the film, why cut down the duel?

 

The HAND!!! On the balcony scene, where Padme doesn't respond to Anakin's caress. Why is that I wondered? Oh ya because they added his hand caress digitally so Portman couldn't react.

Also the shot of Padme on the conveyor belt when she dodging the presses trying to crush her. It catches her cape several times as she dodges underneath

 

anakin getting his lightaber stuck in his hood whilst on the conveyer belt.

misspellings in thread titles

 

when anakin and padme are kissing and being pulled out into the arena, that was some bad digital effects, and also when anakin is cutting the pear it looks too fake, i think they could have spent more time making it look real.

That's nothing compared to how fast she climbs that thing and the fact that Anakin has payed no attention to her since they've been chained up.

Yeah, I think I know the part you mean. But is that what's happening there?

Or how about that seriously goofy face he makes right before being knocked down by the machinery.

 

when he sees that his lightsaber is broke and he says "obiwans gonna kill me" his nose is huge, it looks like the makeup people had a bad day.

 

It annoys me when the destroyer droids roll into the arena, but with no sheild, NOOOOO

 

The nice, clean rip of Padme's shirt after the Nexu (?) takes a swipe at her. Don't get me wrong, I love the after-effect of it (i.e. Portman's midriff), but it is too neat and tidy.

Also, the ever popular "I just fell off a speeding ship but I'll get up and run away" move Padme pulls.

People who think something is a digital effect by default when it is in fact a model. (Assuming you were talking about the arena in this shot.)

when they are being pulled out into the arena, im talking about anakin and padme, they were digital in that part of the scene, you can tell because they dont move naturally, its kinda choppy and such.

 

I didn't think she got the first cuff off with her mouth-I thought she was hiding a hair pin in her mouth, and THAT'S what she was doing-transfering it to her hand.

(Hey, who needs the Force when you've got a hairpin?)

sorry for discussing AOTC on this message board. Does every single topic have to be complementing or glorifying AOTC in every way?

 

When Anakin cuts the fruit, he slices off a size that is obviously different once it takes flight. I was disappointed with the duel between Obi-wan and Dooku. And with Anakin VS Dooku as well. It just seems like the fight was chopped to death. Padmes' line "We're gonna need some help!" just makes me cringe. But these are all minor complaints!

 

Good call, palpytine. Lighten up, guys. This could be a fun thread.

In the speeder chase, when Anakin and Obi-Wan come upon the power couplings, we seem to get shots of Obi-Wan from three different shoots within a mere 5 seconds of screen time. First up, it's reshoot Obi-Wan, complete with big flailing wig in the wind and bushy fake beard during,"Anakin, how many times have I told you". Then, second shot is Obi-Wan from the original shoot with real hair and beard in wind during, "Stay away from power couplings!" Third is Obi-Wan from the original shoot, but with his hair neat and tidy with no wind at all during, "That was good."

 

Two things:

1) In the fight with Jango, Obi Wan goes "Oh oh not good" and when he gets pulled forward the digital model they used is so fake looking it annoys me they didn't put more into it.

2) "We live in a real world!"

No you don't!!

Uh,one little thing that's always bugged me is that none of the Jedi stop to say,"HHhmmm,Why would one of us order a vast army of clones secretly(implying that there was something shady/to be hidden about a VERY significant transaction) and then conveniently,the planet where they're kept has been erased from our files?"

Nothin' fishy THERE!We've got a army? Cool,move out the troops...what great TIMING!" (STUPIDSTUPIDSTUPID-LAZY-WRITER GEORGE)

#2: When R2 is left to guard the sleeping Padme...WHY DOES R2 TURN HIMSELF OFF? Sure,they're using her as bait,but turning himself off still makes no sense.

#3: I didn't know that all the GFFA robots were interchangeable! Yeah! You can just pluck the head off of a protocol droid and snap it right onto a battle droid and vice versa!The circuitry of each robot is essentially the same.Say!I hope they knock off General Grievous' head and weld R2D2's onto his body in ROTS!!!!!

Wouldn't that be hiLARIOUS?!?

#4: There's absolutely no reason offered for Padme to fall "truly,deeply" in Love with Anakin.He's a socially awkward whiny pouter who comes off like an obsessive stalker,they have one "fun" day together(during which he disturbs Padme with his political views and then pathetically pulls the old "I was only JOKING!"-move and then pathetically pretends to be injured to get some attention from her.),and suddenly,she's willing to throw their futures away and live a lie just because what? they were about to go into battle? She's been in battles before,never changed the fact that she was all about duty before.

#5:The fact that there are SO many other things but I don't want to get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome so I'll have to stop there.
