I've just started reading the LotR trilogy and I'm just wondering if anyone would make any changes to who has been cast/who will be cast as the characters in the movies.

As I said, I have only started reading the trilogy this year, I'm halfway through The Two Towers at the moment... But I personally wouldn't make any changes to the major cast that we have already seen. I think they are brilliant and they are how I would imagine the characters to look like. The only problem with me saying this is that I have seen the movie, and then read the book... This may have had an effect on what I imagine the characters to look like... This is where you come in... :D Would you change any of the characters in the Fellowship? Who would you cast as the characters that are going to appear in the Two Towers?

Some of the characters that are going to appear are:
Treebeard, Théoden - King of Rohan, Grima Wormtongue, Eowyn, Eomer - Third Marshal of the Mark, Faramir and Uglúk - Chief of the Uruk-Hai... (Please note, this is taken from IMDB.com If you know of any other characters that will be seen, or characters that we have already seen, please correct me)

So, who would you cast as the above people? Currently, the only character I am going to say is Treebeard... I think that Michael Clarke Duncan would be a good choice for him... But that's my opinion. What about yours?

I've gizzled about the film in the past, but the casting is one thing I thought was spot on. Obviously they weren't following the book to the letter with things like the way the characters looked and the lines they spoke but I think the choice of actors was very good. Even (I hate to say this) Liv Tyler was ok, but more because she looked the part than anything. After all, it's hard to compare her portrayal of the character with the character's 2 paragraph's worth in the book. :p
I think everyone agrees that Ian McKellen was spot on and I'd say that the same goes for the other veteran actors (Ian Holm and Christopher Lee).
I've got a fair idea of who will be playing the characters we haven't seen yet. On alt.fan.tolkien we used to often discuss casting choices even before we knew there would be a film. I always thought that the one who played Sorsha in Willow would be great for Eowyn. I used to pick Michelle Pfiefer (sp?) as a good Galadriel, though Kate Blanchett did the part well.
